CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M wrapped up their 2021-22 season on Saturday afternoon as the Buffs fired a 284 (E) in the final round of the NCAA Division II South Central/West Regional Championships at Pueblo Country Club (Par 71 – 6,522 Yards) in Pueblo, Colorado.
The Buffs registered 16 birdies during Saturday's final round to go along with eagles by
Daniel Unger on the 595-yard par-five seventh hole and
Pablo Rebolleda on the 267-yard par-four 10
th. The Buffs finished with a 284 on Saturday to match their lowest team score of the tournament to finish tied for ninth overall.
Eemeli Jarvinen concluded his collegiate career with a three-under 68 during the final round as the Helsinki, Finland native finished tied for eighth overall (209, -4) just three strokes out of contention for a bid to nationals.
Colorado State-Pueblo claimed the Regional Championship with a 284 (E) in the final round for a one-stroke victory (845, -7) over Colorado Mesa. Garrett Leek of Midwestern State and Matthew Pennington of Cal State San Marcos finished tied atop of the individual leaderboard with a 204 (-9).
The top four teams and top two individuals outside of those four teams advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships on May 16-20 at TPC Michigan in Detroit, Michigan.
