CANYON, Texas – The Buffs of West Texas A&M fired rounds of 302, 292 and 297 to finish ninth overall at the Houston Classic hosted by Southern Nazarene at the Golf Club of Houston (Par 72 – 7,422 Yards) in Humble, Texas.
David Vega Gerstel impressed during the 54-hole event as the freshman from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain shot rounds of 77, 71 and 70 for a 218 (+3) playing as an individual.
Luis Palomo led the way for the Buffalo lineup as the senior finished 18
th with a 219 (+3) highlighted by an even-par 72 in the opening round. Palomo had nine birdies during the 56-hole event with four of the feathers coming in round one.

The Buffs return to the course on March 1-3 as they head to Boulder City, Nevada to take part in the Las Vegas Desert Classic hosted by UMSL at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.
