ALLENDALE, Mich. – West Texas A&M's freshman
Hamdi Alamin earned All-American honors on day two of the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.  After two days of competition, the Buffs sit 27
thwith four points. Â

Alamin claimed All-American honors earlier in the day after finishing seventh in the high jump, picking up two points for the Buffs.  The Doha, Qatar product cleared 6-11.75 (2.13m) while
Seniru Amarasinghe finished 17
that 6-7.5 (2.02m).Â

Two Buffs will compete in the 200-meter finals with the fourth- and fifth-fastest times in the preliminaries by
Benjamin Azamati and
Jeremiah Lauzon.  Azamati finished Heat 2 with a 20.70 time followed by Lauzon at 20.80 in Heat 1.Â

Butare Rugenerwa will look to defend his title in the 800 after the junior ran 1:49.51 in the prelims to advance to the finals. Â
Abdelrahim Mahgoub landed just outside of the qualifying times at 1:50.28.  He finished 12
thoverall to earn All-American honors.Â

The NCAA DII 110m hurdle record-holder
Jahmaal Wilson will move on to the finals after winning his heat. The Nassau, Bahamas product was one of two hurdlers to run sub-14 seconds in the preliminaries along with Louis Rollins of Pittsburg State at 13.61.Â

The 4x400-meter relay team of
William Frobe,
Bassem Hemeida,
Malick Diop, and
Quinton Sansing will run in the final event of the national meet as the quartet advanced to the finals.  The relay squad ran the second-fastest time in the prelims at 3:08.76. Â

The Buffs will return for the final day of the national meet tomorrow starting off with the men's triple jump put at 10:45 a.m. CT at the GVSU Track & Field Complex in Allendale.
