Eemeli Jarvinen tied a program single-round record when it mattered the most on Tuesday afternoon as the Buffs topped Cameron in Semifinal Medal Match Play to advance to tomorrow's Lone Star Conference Championships at Squaw Valley Golf Course (Par 72, Rating 74.2, Slope 134; 7,063 yards) in Glen Rose, Texas.
The Buffs advance to tomorrow's Lone Star Conference Medal Match Play Championship against the top seeded Midwestern State Mustangs beginning at 8 a.m. The winner of Wednesday's action will receive the LSC's automatic big into the NCAA Division II South Central/West Super Regionals on May 5-7 at Pueblo Country Club in Pueblo, Colorado.
West Texas A&M vs. Cameron (Semifinal Medal Match – Started on Hole 10)
The LSC Championship Semifinal and Championship is a "Medal Match" event. Each match is scored by the cumulative number of strokes won by rather than the number of holes won. For example, up 3 means that the player is up by 3 strokes, not 3 holes. The player up by the most strokes after 18 holes wins the match.

Kolton Baber took his first lead over Hamish Murray on the fifth hole as CU's freshman from Australia bogeyed the par-three 14
th. Baber would pick up two-strokes each on the 17
th and 18
th holes to make the turn with a five-stroke lead. The Devol, Oklahoma product would stretch his lead to six strokes on the second hole before Murray made a late run but Baber would pick up the win by one stroke.

Daniel Unger took an early two-stroke lead over Joey Kirk thru the first six holes of the afternoon. The junior from Sweden would extend his lead to six strokes at the turn. Unger would reach as much as an eight shot lead before Kirk claimed two of the last three holes as Unger held on for the four-stroke victory.

Eemeli Jarvinen used a birdie on the 14
th and a Trevor Mieri bogey for the early two-stroke lead. Jarvinen would use an eagle on the 18
th to take a three-stroke lead to the first tee box at the turn. The Helsinki product would close out the nine-stroke victory with a 34 (-2) on the front nine on his way to tying WT's single-round program record with a 65 (-7).

Pablo Rebolleda and Preston Holmes sat tied following three holes before Cameron's sophomore from League City, Texas finished the back nine with a nine-over 45 for a four stroke lead. Rebolleda wouldn't go down without a fight as the Spain native tied it up with three holes remaining before falling by two shots.
- Erik Strömfelt and Tyler Kaman traded shots thru the first eight holes before WT's junior from Stockholm picked up a two-stroke lead making the turn with a birdie on the par-five 18
th. Kaman would battle back to tie it up on the 3
rd hole before Stromfelt closed out the one-stroke victory.
