CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes kept their season alive on Tuesday morning as they finish stroke play at the 2022 Lone Star Conference Championships with an 834 (-30) to advance to this afternoon's semifinal medal match play at Squaw Valley Golf Course (Par 72, Rating 74.2, Slope 134; 7,063 yards) in Glen Rose, Texas.

Tuesday morning's final round of stroke play saw the Buffs register 18 birdies to go along with four eagles to finish with a 282 (-6) to pick up the second seed in the semifinal match play with a 54-hole total of 834 (-30). WT's overall team score of 834 sets a new program record for a 54-hole event.

Unger finished the tournament tied for fifth overall with a 204 (-12) for the second lowest 54-hole total by a Buff in program history, just one stroke shy of Brayden Cruth's Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational score of 203 back in September of 2017.

Mauricio Figueroa of Texas A&M International claimed the LSC Individual Championship with a 200 (-16) including a four-under 68 in the final round to claim a one-stroke victory over Ryan Dixon on St. Mary's (-15, 201).Â

The Buffs claimed the second seed in the LSC Semifinal Medal Match Play as they will take on the third-seeded Cameron Aggies this afternoon at Squaw Valley Golf Course.
