Shooting Woes Doom the Lady Buffs in San Antonio, 57-48

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M could never find a rhythm offensively on Monday afternoon as they shot just 24.3% from the floor to snap a six-game win streak with a 57-48 Lone Star Conference loss at Bill Greehey Arena against the St. Mary's Rattlers.
 
Karley Motschenbacher led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the freshman went 7-of-17 from the floor including 2-of-8 from behind the arc for a team-high 17 points to go along with 12 rebounds, two assists and a block to finish with her fifth double-double of the season. Zamorye Roberts went 3-of-16 from the floor and 3-of-14 from deep for 12 points to go along with five boards, and a steal.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the afternoon going 18-of-74 (24.3%) from the field including 5-of-33 (15.2%) from behind the arc and 7-of-10 (70%) from the free throw line with 49 rebounds (20 offensive, 29 defensive), nine assists, 13 turnovers, seven blocks and five steals.
 
Hannah Wilson paced the Rattlers offense as the Fredericksburg native went 9-of-21 from the field including 10-of-11 from the stripe to go along with 13 rebounds, two blocks and a steal for the double-double. St. Mary's finished the game going 18-of-52 (34.6%) from the floor including 3-of-10 (30%) from deep and 18-of-23 (78.3%) from the free throw line with 43 rebounds, nine assists, 16 turnovers, three blocks and six steals.
 
The Lady Buffs return home for the final two games of the regular season beginning on Thursday night as they host the Javelinas of Texas A&M-Kingsville in Lone Star Conference action with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m. at the First United Bank Center.
