CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M ran their winning streak to five games on Tuesday night as they remained atop of the Lone Star Conference standings with a 75-65 victory over the Cameron Aggies in front of over 900 fans at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.
Taylor Williams led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the Memphis product went 4-of-6 from the floor including a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line for a team-high 16 points to go along with five rebounds, two assists and three steals.
Zamorye Roberts finished the night going 5-of-18 from the field including 4-of-15 from behind the arc for 14 points followed by
Lauren Taylor also in double-figures with 10 points and 11 boards for a double-double.
The Lady Buffs finished the night going 22-of-64 (34.4%) from the floor including 10-of-32 (31.3%) from deep and 21-of-24 (87.5%) from the stripe to go along with 50 rebounds (14 offensive, 36 defensive), 12 assists, 16 turnovers, nine blocks and nine steals.
Stephanie Peterson paced the Cameron offense as the sophomore from Broomfield, Colorado went 10-of-18 from the field including 2-of-4 from behind the arc for a game-high 24 points to go along with seven rebounds, one block and two steals. The Aggies went 23-of-67 (34.3%) from the floor including 6-of-22 (27.3%) from deep and 13-of-16 (81.3%) from the free throw line with 36 rebounds, nine assists, 16 turnovers, two blocks and eight steals.
The Lady Buffs hit the road for LSC action on Thursday night as they make the long drive to Silver City, New Mexico to take on the Western New Mexico Mustangs with tipoff set for 6:30 p.m. CT at Drag's Court.
