CANYON, Texas -- The West Texas A&M University women's soccer team welcomes Angelo State for a top-25 matchup at The Pitch on Wednesday. The 16th-ranked Lady Buffs kickoff with the 22nd-ranked Rambelles start play at 7 p.m.

Live stats and stream will be available for Saturday's match provided by the WT athletic communications department. Viewers have the option to watch the match on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network for a $10 24-hour day pass or $50 season pass.
 
All TIME SERIES
WT and Angelo State have a storied history with 42 total meetings between the schools. The Lady Buffs hold a 21-14-7 record against the Rambelles after the series started in 1996. Angelo State holds the longest win streak in the series, four games from 2014 to 2015, defeated WT 2-1 in 2021.
 
LAST TIME OUT
WT returned to the win column with a 3-2 defeat of UT Tyler on Saturday. The Lady Buffs found themselves down after three and a half minutes of play but responded with a goal a minute later. The Patriots regained the lead, but WT tied the score once more. In the 66th minute, Asha James' corner kick found Maliyah Mendoza on the back past for the game-winning goal.
 
SCOUTING ANGELO STATE
The Rambelles come off a 2-0 upset over top-ranked Dallas Baptist on Saturday. In the game, Hadley Coronado and Mia Czarnecki scored the Rambelles' goals. The defense, led by Preseason Defender of the Year Cassidy Hill and Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year Kira Miller, held the Patriots off the scoreboard with only five shots on goal. 
 
NATIONAL STANDINGS
The top five remained the same apart from Central Missouri and Columbus State switching spots at three and four. Dallas Baptist sits atop the poll followed by Embry-Riddle (Fla.). Central Missouri, Columbus State, and West Chester finish the top five.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
James was instrumental in the Lady Buffs' 3-2 win over UT Tyler on Saturday as WT improved to 8-1-1 on the season. The junior placed two of her three shots on goal, including her game-tying strike off a corner kick in the 58th minute. The Trinidadian midfielder found Maliyah Mendoza in the 66th minute to provide the game-winner on another set piece from the corner.

WT hits the road for a matchup with Texas Woman's on Saturday. The Pioneers host the Lady Buffs at 1 p.m. at the Pioneer Soccer Park in Denton.
