RICHARDSON, Texas – The Lone Star Conference awarded West Texas A&M goalkeeper
Reagan Heelan the Goalkeeper of the Week award on Monday. Heelan earns the award for the third time this season and fifth time in her career.
Â
Heelan remained one of the best goalkeepers in the country as the Lady Buffs went 2-0 this past week with wins against St. Edward's and Midwestern State. The sophomore goalkeeper tallied five saves on the road in the 1-0 win against SEU. In the 2-0 win over MSU at home, the Nebraska native notched seven more saves to lower her goals-against average to 0.36 on the season. Heelan's eighth and ninth shutouts moved her into a tie for the conference lead. As a unit the WT defense hasn't allowed a goal since Oct. 1, totaling 395 minutes of scoreless play since that point.
Â
The Lady Buffs travel west to take on rival Eastern New Mexico in Portales. WT kicks off with the Greyhounds at 5 p.m. Central.
