AUSTIN, Texas – The Lady Buffs finished off a grueling road trip in style on Monday afternoon as Karley Motschenbacher connected on a layup with just over a second remaining in overtime to give WT a 79-77 victory over the St. Edward's Hilltoppers in Lone Star Conference action.
 
Haylei Janssens led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the Moreno Valley, California product went 7-of-14 from the floor including 3-of-4 from deep and 2-of-5 from the free throw line for a team-high 19 points to go along with three rebounds, one assist and a steal. Lauren Taylor finished the 15 points followed by Motschenbacher with 12 and Madison Kast with 10.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the afternoon going 28-of-63 (44.4%) from the floor including 8-of-16 (50%) from behind the arc and 15-of-23 (65.2%) from the charity stripe with 34 rebounds (10 offensive, 24 defensive), 11 assists, 13 turnovers, four blocks and six steals.
 
Lauren Catherman paced the SEU offense as the sophomore from Lubbock went 8-of-12 from the floor including a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line for a game-high 22 points to go along with five boards, one assist and three steals. The Toppers went 24-of-63 (38.1%) from the field including 2-of-13 (15.4%) from behind the arc and 27-of-35 (77.1%) from the stripe with 44 rebounds, five assists, 12 turnovers, two blocks and 11 steals.
 
The Lady Buffs return home for a short break before hitting the road again on Thursday night with a non-conference showdown with the Cameron Aggies, tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. at Aggie Gym in Lawton.
