Haylei Janssens scored a career-high 20 points on Saturday afternoon as the Lady Buffs rolled to their fourth straight win with a 74-47 decision over the Western New Mexico Mustangs in a non-conference regional matchup at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.
Janssens guided the Lady Buff offense as the junior from Moreno Valley, California went 10-of-13 from the floor to go along with 11 rebounds for her first career double-double in Maroon & White.
Madison Kast went 3-of-9 from the floor and 4-of-5 from the free throw line for a season-high 11 points while
Alivia Lewis finished the afternoon with four points, 10 rebounds and four blocks.
The Lady Buffs finished the game going 28-of-73 (38.4%) from the floor including 3-of-17 (17.6%) from deep and 15-of-19 (78.9%) from the free throw line with 59 rebounds (22 offensive, 37 defensive), eight assists, 13 turnovers, four blocks and 12 steals.
Olivia Lee led the way for the Mustangs as the sophomore from Peoria, Arizona went 6-of-7 from the field including a perfect 1-of-1 from the free throw line for a team-high 13 points to go along with three rebounds, one assist and a block. WNMU finished the game going 20-of-65 (30.8%) from the floor including 4-of-12 (33.3%) from deep and 3-of-6 (50%) from the stripe to go along with 36 rebounds (10 offensive, 26 defensive), five assists, 19 turnovers, five blocks and five steals.
