Azia Himeur scored a career-high 24 points on Sunday afternoon as the Lady Buffs rolled past the Northern New Mexico Lady Eagles in exhibition action at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.
The Albuquerque product finished the afternoon going 5-of-8 from the floor including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc and a perfect 11-of-11 from the charity stripe to lead the way with 24 points to go along with five steals, one block and a pair of rebounds.
Madison Kast chipped in 17 points followed by
Lauren Taylor with 12.
The Lady Buffs finished the game going 27-of-60 (45%) from the floor including 5-of-15 (33.3%) from deep and 29-of-37 (78.4%) from the stripe to go along with 47 rebounds (18 offensive, 29 defensive), 14 assists, eight turnovers, four blocks and 11 steals.
Heavyn Jordan led the way for the Lady Eagles as the junior went 3-of-8 from the field including 2-of-5 from deep to tie a team high with eight points while grabbing four rebounds to go along with a pair of assists. NNMC went 18-of-55 (32.7%) from the floor including 8-of-19 (42.1%) from behind the arc and 1-of-3 (33.3%) from the free throw line with 25 rebounds, nine assists, 20 turnovers, one block and six steals.
