CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M used a balanced attack of three different players in double-figured led by
Jayla Burgess with 16 as the Lady Buffs picked up a win over the MSU Billings Yellowjackets, 59-26 on Friday afternoon at the South Point Hotel & Casino during the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic.

Burgess finished the afternoon going 6-of-7 from the floor including 4-of-7 from the free throw line for a team-high 16 points to go along with five rebounds, one assist and two steals.
Zamorye Roberts went 3-of-10 from behind the arc for 14 points and three steals while
Azia Himeur finished in double-figures for the second straight contest with 10.

The Lady Buffs finished the game going 18-of-52 (34.6%) from the field including 6-of-25 (24%) from deep and 17-of-27 (63%) from the free throw line with 35 rebounds (nine offensive, 26 defensive), nine assists, nine turnovers, one block and 10 steals.

Taryn Shelley led the way for the 'Jackets as the Washington State transfer went 5-of-13 from the field and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe for a team-high 15 points to go along with 12 rebounds for a double-double. MSUB went 17-of-48 (35.4%) from the floor including 2-of-16 (12.5%) from behind the arc and 10-of-16 (62.5%) from the stripe with 38 rebounds (seven offensive, 31 defensive), nine assists, 18 turnovers, one block and five steals.
