West Texas A&M Falls to Southern Indiana in Las Vegas, 90-78

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M forced 24 turnovers on Saturday afternoon but four different players in double-figures lifted the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles past the Lady Buffs, 90-78 to close out the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
 
Karley Motschenbacher led the way for the Lady Buffs as the Moorhead, Minnesota product picked up her second career double-double in Maroon & White, going 6-of-12 from the floor including 7-of-9 from the free throw line for a team-high 20 points to go along with 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals. Taylor Williams finished the afternoon going 5-of-10 from the field with two boards and two steals for 12 points,
 
The Lady Buffs finished the afternoon going 29-of-74 (39.2%) from the field including 6-of-27 (22.2%) from deep and 14-of-21 (66.7%) from the free throw line with 37 rebounds (15 offensive, 22 defensive), 10 assists, 20 turnovers, four blocks and 12 steals.
 
Emma Dehart led the way for the Screaming Eagles as the senior from Indianapolis went 5-of-9 from the floor including 4-of-6 from deep and a perfect 10-of-10 from the stripe for a game-high 24 points to go along with six rebounds and two assists. USI went 25-of-51 (49%) from the field including 11-of-21 (52.4%) from behind the arc and 29-of-34 (85.3%) from the free throw line with 37 rebounds (five offensive, 32 defensive), 16 assists, 24 turnovers, no blocks and 12 steals.

The Lady Buffs head into the holiday break before opening up Lone Star Conference action on New Year's Eve in Fort Smith, Arkansas to take on the UAFS Lady Lions with tipoff set for 2 p.m. at the Stubblefield Center.
