CANYON, Texas – Coming off their overtime quarterfinal victory, the Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M look for the upset victory over No. 5 and No. 1 seeded DBU on Friday evening.  WT will face the Patriots tomorrow, Nov. 12 at 5 p.m. at the Patriot Soccer Field in Dallas.

The winner of Friday's match will go on to the Lone Star Conference Championship to take on the winner of No. 6 Angelo State – No. 7 Texas A&M-Commerce on Sunday, Nov. 14.Â

A LOOK AT THE BRACKET
No. 1 DBU earned the bye into the quarterfinals after going 12-1-0 in conference play.  No. 6 Angelo State upset the third-seeded Texas Woman's, 1-0, while the No. 7 seeded Texas A&M-Commerce also registered an 3-2 upset against No. 2 Midwestern State.  The No. 4 Lady Buffs defeated the No. 5 St. Mary's Rattlers to move on to the semifinal matches.Â
SEVEN STRAIGHT
The Lady Buffs made the conference tournament for the seventh consecutive season after recording a 9-4 mark in LSC regular-season play.  Last season, WT registered victories over Texas Woman's and Texas A&M-Commerce to advance to the semifinal match against No. 1 seed DBU. Â
Hannah Kelley-Lusk scored the lone goal for the Lady Buffs that fell 4-1.Â

A LOOK AT THE PATRIOTS
No. 6 DBU ended Lone Star Conference play 12-1 to earn the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.  The Patriots, led by Michelle Lenard, are 16-2-0 on the season and are the only school from the LSC ranked in the national standings.Â

The Patriots own one of the top attacks in the conference as they are scoring 3.33 goals per game. Eleven different players have scored multiple goals including LSC Preseason Player of the Year, Ashley Merrill. The sophomore from Frisco has found the back of the net 13 times, after scoring 17 as a true freshman in the spring.Â

Delaney Schmidt has also found the back of the net 11 times for DBU while chipping in five assists for 27 points.Â

The Patriot defense is led by LSC Preseason Co-Defensive Player of the Year Blythe Obar. Another sophomore from Frisco, Obar has started in all 18 games anchoring a defense that is only allowing .83 goals per match.Â
THE SERIES
The Lady Buffs of 3-9-1 all-time against the DBU Patriots since the series start in 2001.  Friday will mark the second meeting between the two programs this season.  In their last match, DBU scored five unanswered goals in the second half to beat the Lady Buffs, 5-4. Â

A LADY BUFF FIRST
Hannah Kelley-Lusk became the first Lady Buff in program to receive three specialty conference honors in the same season.  The Farmington, N.M. product was named the Lone Star Conference Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and Academic Player of the Year.

WT HONORS
Five Lady Buffs earned All-Conference honors led by Kelley-Lusk who received First Team accolades for the third time in her career. Â
Reagan Matacale,

Emily Avila were named Second Team All-Conference followed by
Maliyah Mendoza who was tabbed Third Team.Â
BREAKING RECORDS
In the Lady Buffs 10-0 victory over Texas A&M International,
Hannah Kelley-Lusk shattered the program's single season goal record when she scored her 25
th goal of the season.  The senior broke former Lady Buffs Sarit Shenar previous record at 22 in 2006.

She now has 57 career goals, making her one of two players in program history to reach the mark. Only Sarit Shenar has scored more goals than the Farmington, N.M. as she scored 72 times during her time in Canyon.Â

MONEY MIA MENDOZA
Mendoza was electric for the Lady Buffs in their final three home games with four goals and three assists. She picked up her first career hat trick in the Lady Buffs 10-0 victory over Texas A&M International on Senior Day to earn her third LSC Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Â

Death, Taxes andÂ
Cheyenne Orozco at centre back are three things that are 100 percent certain. The senior from Albuquerque, N.M. has now played in over 8,300 minutes during her career after playing another 90 minutes on Saturday.  On Senior Day, she also registered her first collegiate goal in the 36
th-minute.  For her career, the 2018 LSC Defensive Player of the Year has started in 87 of 90 games. Â
NUMBERS IN DII
Statistically, WT ranks first in the nation in total goals at 68 through 19 complete contests.   They also rank third in scoring offense (3.68 goals/match), ninth in points per game (9.05) and fourth in total points (172). Kelley-Lusk continues to lead the nation in goals per game (1.53), points per game (3.65), total goals (26), and total points (60).
A LOOK AT REGIONALS
The Lady Buffs were ranked eighth in the first of three regional rankings released by the NCAA on Oct. 27. The top six teams from the South Central will make the tournament with the winners of the LSC and RMAC Tournaments receiving automatic bids.  The 48-team field for the 2021 NCAA DII Women's Soccer Championships will be announced on Monday, Nov. 15, via an online selection show on NCAA.com at 5 p.m.Â
