West Texas A&M Host Eastern New Mexico on Wednesday at The Pitch

GAME NOTES

CANYON, Texas – 
West Texas A&M returns to the friendly confines of The Pitch on Wednesday, Oct. 27, to host rival Eastern New Mexico. First kick is scheduled for 5 p.m.
 
Wednesday's contest will be broadcast on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network with Alex Kypfer. Fans wanting to watch the game can purchase a 24-hour pass for $10 or a season pass for $50.
 
THE PITCH
WT IS 65-31-12 (.657) at The Pitch since it was opened on Sept. 10, 2010 against Fort Lewis. The Lady Buffs are 6-2-0 this season in Canyon.
 
AN IMPORTANT FINAL STRETCH
The Lady Buffs enter the final four games of the regular season in sixth-place in the Lone Star Conference standings with 15 points, two points clear of eighth-place Oklahoma Christian, Lubbock Christian and Texas A&M-Commerce. If the season ended today, WT would travel to Angelo State in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament. 
 
Dallas Baptist is in control of the title race with 27 points, three more than a Texas Woman's team they beat 1-0 on Oct. 6. ASU sits in third with 20 points followed by Midwestern State and St. Edward's. WT sits in sixth with St. Mary's occupying the final tournament spot following a 3-0 win over UT Permian Basin. 
 
A LOOK AT EASTERN NEW MEXICO
The Greyhounds make the trip to Canyon with an overall record of 2-11-1 and 0-8-1 record in LSC play following a 3-0 loss to DBU on Saturday in Portales, N.M.
 
ENMU is scoring less than a goal per game on 11 shots, less than half of those on-target. Katey Stice, a senior from Odessa, has scored five of the Greyhounds nine goals including braces against CSU-Pueblo and Texas A&M International. 
 
Victoria Galindo is one of two players on the roster with an assist as the Chino, Calif. native has a team-high two. 
 
Whitney Dockweilr has started in all 14 games in goal for the Greyhounds. The senior from Bellevue, Neb. has faced 230 shots with saves while allowing 24 goals for a goals against average of 1.68. She has made a season-high eight saves in five different games. 
 
THE SERIES
Wednesday's contest will be the 28th all-time meeting between the two programs that dates back to Oct. 12, 2003. WT is 10-2-2 at the Pitch including a 2-1 victory in their last meeting on Sept. 27, 2019 where Hannah Kelley-Lusk and Khaline Jacob getting on the scoresheet. 
 
LOOKING TO MAKE HISTORY
Hannah Kelley-Lusk needs two goals to become the second player in program history to score 20 goals in a season single season. WT's all-time leading goal scorer Sarit Shenar accomplished the feat three times including a program record 24 in 2004. 
 
The senior forward has scored 49 goals in her career, tied for the second-most in program history with Elisabeth Markussen. She actually passed Markussed for second in points with her assist on Maliyah Mendoza's game-winner against St. Edward's last week. 
 
DOUBLE TROUBLE
With James two penalty kicks on Saturday, WT has two players with 10 or more goals for the first time since 2008. Kelley-Lusk has a conference and team-high 18 goals while James has chipped in a career-best 10 goals. 
 
MRS. 8,000
Cheyenne Orozco is expected to make her 87th career start in Wednesday's rival game against the Greyhounds. The former LSC Defensive Player of the Year is also 81 minutes away from reaching 8,000 for her career, more than 1,400 more than Lindsay McHorse accumulated during her career. 
 
STILL ONE OF THE TOP OFFENSES
The Lady Buffs continue to rank in the Top 10 in NCAA Division II women's soccer in four categories following their 3-2 setback to MSU on Saturday. They rank fourth in scoring offense (3.5 goals/game) and sixth in total goals, seventh in points per game and total points. 
 
Even without scoring a goal for just the third time this season against MSU, Kelley-Lusk continues to rank first nationally in goals, points, goals per game and points per game. 
 
Kelley-Lusk's 18 goals are the sixth-most in all of NCAA women's soccer.
 
UP NEXT
WT hits the road for two straight games beginning with a trip to San Antonio to face St. Mary's on Saturday, Oct. 30. It will be the first meeting between WT and former associate head coach Kevin Driggs.
 
WT leads the all-time series against the Rattlers 8-1-3 including a 1-0 victory on Oct. 25, 2019 with Marlene van Mourik scoring the contests only goal from the penalty spot.
