THE PITCH
The Lady Buffs are 3-1-0 at home this season following a 5-4 setback to No. 17 Dallas Baptist on Saturday. The loss to the Patriots snapped an eight-game winning streak against NCAA Division II opponents at The Pitch.

WT is 62-30-12 since The Pitch was opened on Sept. 10, 2010 against Fort Lewis.

A LOOK AT TEXAS A&M-COMMERCE
A&M-Commerce enters Saturday's contest at 3-3-1 following a 8-0 victory over UT Permian Basin on Saturday. The Lions are led by 24th year head coach Neil Piper, who has led the Lions to eight LSC titles and eight NCAA appearances.

The Lions are scoring 2.6 goals per game, good for the fourth most in the Lone Star Conference. Karalie Morrison has scored a team-high four goals including a hat track in her last game against UTPB. The freshman from North Richland Hills has also registered a team-high 23 shots, 15 of those on-target.

Leslie Campuzano is tied with Morrison for the team lead in points with 10 as the senior has dished out four assists to go along with three goals. In her seven career games against the Lady Buffs, the Garland native has provided three assists including a two-assist effort in the first of their two games played in the spring.

Mindy Shoffit and Melissa Storey have also scored multiple goals for the Lions.

Jen Peters has started in all seven games in goal for the Lions making a total of 24 saves. She has allowed 12 goals for a .667 save percentage. Lauren Banning has also made four appearances for A&M-Commerce including second half appearances against DBU and UTPB.

THE SERIES
The Lady Buffs are 28-15-2 all-time against Neil Piper and the Lions. WT has won six straight, the longest such streak in the series that dates back to Oct. 5, 1996.

Saturday could possibly be the last matchup between the two schools following A&M-Commerce's announcement earlier this week to make the transition to Division I.

SCORING USUALLY MEANS A W
Something rare happened on Saturday afternoon at The Pitch as WT lost after scoring first. They are now 60-4-4 (.912) since 2015 when scoring the first goal of the game. In contrary, they are 8-36-2 (.195) when the opposing team opens the scoring.

The Lady Buffs also dropped to 24-3-1 (.875) when Hannah Kelley-Lusk finds the back of the net. Two of the three losses have come against DBU.

SPEED KILLS
After accumulating five points in a 6-0 win over UT Permian Basin in the conference opener, the Farmington, N.M. native recorded her second career hat trick in a 5-4 loss to No. 17 DBU on Saturday. Her third and final goal in the 50th minute gave her 40 for her career, making her one of three student-athletes in program history to reach that mark.

Kelley-Lusk has also scored in seven straight games dating back to the LSC Quarterfinal against the Patriots in the spring. In total, she has scored against nine of the 14 LSC schools.

DIAZ IS DEALING
With her third assist of the season on Saturday, Diaz moved up to eighth on the all-time list. In 78 games, the senior midfielder from Amarillo has 18 assists with a career-high five coming in 2018 where she played an integral part in helping the Lady Buffs win the NCAA DII South Central Regional title.

BACK IN THE RANKINGS
Even after a loss, WT moved into the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 at No. 21. It marks the first time since the 2019 Preseason Poll that the Lady Buffs were ranked amongst the Top 25 in NCAA Division II women's soccer.

SPEAKING OF RANKINGS
The Lady Buffs have scored 27 goals so far this season, the fifth-most in NCAA DII women's soccer. Their 3.86 goals per contest actually make them the third-best scoring offense in the nation.

Individually, Kelley-Lusk's nine goals are the most in the LSC and ranks her fifth in the nation. Asha James' 19 goals are the 19th most nationally.

UP NEXT
The Lady Buffs conclude their three-game home stand on Wednesday, Oct. 6, Rivalry on the Range showdown against Lubbock Christian. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
