A LOOK BACK AT TEXAS A&M-COMMERCE
Joel Murray reached 1,000 career points as No. 3 West Texas A&M used a big second half to defeat Midwestern State 82-58 in front of 1,361 fans on Thursday evening at the First United Bank Center. The Buffs improved to 28-1 overall and 20-1 in Lone Star Conference as they tied the program record with their 19th straight victory.

Jon'il Fugett led the team in scoring for the second consecutive game with 17 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the floor and   2-of-3 from 3-point range. Murray added 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists with fellow sophomore Qua Grant chipping in 11 points and seven rebounds. The Buffs shot 44.6 percent from the floor, 33.3 percent from 3-point range and 72.2 percent from the free throw line.

A LOOK AT THE NUMBERS
The Buffs have won 19 straight games, tying the program record set last year during their run to their second consecutive Elite Eight. A win on Saturday would make them the first team in the LSC to win 20 or more games in a single season in the past decade.

The nation's longest home win streak now stands at 41 games following WT's win over MSU on Thursday. Gonzaga moved their streak to 38 with a dominant victory over San Diego while Northwest Missouri State has now won 33 at home after a 69-61 victory over Washburn.

Thursday's game was just the fifth time this season that Buffs leading scorer failed to score over 20 points. WT is 5-0 in all of those games.

Grant became the seventh Buff in program history to score over 600 points in a single season on Thursday night. His 600 points are four shy of passing former teammate Ryan Quaid and 16 away from Simmie Hill. His 1,168 career points are seven shy of passing Damien Lolar and moving into 11th on the all-time scoring list.

Grant has also done it on the defensive end of the floor as the Waxahachie native's 67 steals this season are the second-most in single season in program history. His 118 career steals are the sixth-most in program history.

Since we are talking about records, Murray now ranks eighth in career assists and third in steals. With his five assists against Mustangs on Thursday, the sophomore passed Walter Roese with 265 assists. His 127 career steals are six away from tying David Rhone for the second-most in program history.

Collins enters his the final regular season game of his career with 158 3-pointers, the sixth-most in program history. He hit a career-high 66 triples as a junior in 2018-19 and is shooting 34.1 percent from beyond the arc this season. He and Mosley also ranked third in career games played with 117.

A LOOK AT CAMERON
