ANGELO STATE
Angelo State (33-19, 17-13) finished the regular season with a doubleheader sweep over St. Edward's on Tuesday, April 30, in San Angelo, Texas. They earned the sixth seed after going 17-13 in LSC play after failing to win 20-plus conference games for the first time since 2016.

The Rambelles finished the regular season hitting .306 as a team scoring 341 runs on 80 doubles, nine triples and 60 home runs for 317 RBI. Courtney Barnhill is one of the top hitters in the nation as the junior is hitting .399 with 16 doubles, one triples and 12 home runs for 55 RBI for a .730 slugging percentage. She is also a team-best 23-of-27 on stolen base attempts this season. Taegan Kirk has been equally impressive hitting .349 with 11 doubles and five home runs for 31 RBI.

Meagan Hill has been the ace in circle for the Rambelles with a record of 16-8 in 36 appearances and 24 starts. The sophomore has allowed 82 runs (79 earned) on 150 hits and 63 walks and a team-high 115 strikeouts for an ERA of 3.70 in 149 1/3 innings. Fellow sophomore Makayla Corbin is 10-8 in the circle for ASU having allowed 75 runs (70 earned) on 121 hits, 70 walks and 64 strikeouts.

Travis Scott has been at the helm of one of the top softball programs in the South Central Region over 13 years leading the Rambelles to five trips to the NCAA Division II National Championships, bringing home the national title in 2004 and finishing as runners-up in 2017.

A LOOK BACK AT THE SEASON SERIES
The Lady Buffs swept the then-No. 1 Rambelles on the road for the first time in program history on Feb. 22-23. Trailing 5-2 in the top of the seventh in the opening game of the series, WT scored eight runs including a grand slam from Kylee Moore to win 10-6. They would never trail in the final two game of the series in 7-1, 9-6 wins.

INSIDE THE ALL-TIME SERIES
WT is 30-32 all-time against the Rambelles including 4-3 in the LSC Tournament.  The Rambelles defeated WT 7-4 last year after the Lady Buffs defeated them 2-1 during the 2016 Championships.

STATS OF THE DAY
Moore continues to lead the nation in the walks per game (1.12) while ranking in the Top 10 in slugging percentage (.898) and on-base percentage (.599). The senior has been walked a LSC high 48 times, 13 more than teammate Alyx Cordell

The Lady Buffs head into postseason play leading the nation in home runs per game (1.88), slugging percentage (.621) and on-base percentage (.453). They also rank fourth in scoring (7.93/game) behind Colorado Mesa, Benedict and Winston-Salem.

LADY BUFFS CONTINUE DOMINANCE AT THE PLATE
The Lady Buffs finished the regular season leading the LSC in batting average, slugging and on-base percentage. They have also hit a league-high 81 home runs in 43 games including a team-high 15 from freshman Ruby Salzman. The Northridge, Calif. enters postseason play four dingers short of tying the freshman record set by Allie Cranfill in 2012.

EIGHT STRAIGHT FEELS GREAT
The Lady Buffs finished conference play 22-8 marking the eighth straight season they have won 20 or more league games. They are also looking to make it eight straight seasons with at least three players with 10 or more home runs. Ruby Salzman (15) and Moore (13) have been in double digits for weeks now and need a Shanna McBroom or Brittany Cruz home run to continue the streak.

LADY BUFFS MOVE TO FOURTH IN REGIONAL RANKINGS
Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M-Commerce remained 1-2 in the final NCAA Division II South Central Regional Rankings with Tarleton moving up to third with WT now in fourth. Cameron and Colorado Mesa stayed steady at fifth and sixth with St. Mary's in seventh and Angelo State in eighth.

If the tournament started today, WT, CU and ASU would travel to Kingsville, Texas while CMU, StMU and TSU would make the trip to Commerce, Texas.

A LOOK AT THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
