GAME NOTES

CANYON, Texas –
The #21 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M will put its seven-game winning streak on the line when they face rival Eastern New Mexico on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at The Pitch. Following the contest against the Greyhounds, WT will make the trip to Wichita Falls, Texas for a Friday night matchup against MSU Texas.

EASTERN NEW MEXICO
Joshua Smith is in his first season as head coach at ENMU after spending the previous two seasons at the University of the Southwest. He has the Greyhounds off to a 3-2-2 start including a 1-0-1 record in Lone Star Conference play.

Four of the Greyhounds 10 goals have come from Kaitlyn Caro and Bailey Bosley. Caro had scored in consecutive games before not finding the net against Texas Woman's. Julia Tucker has a team-high two assists in seven starts.

Freshman Taylor Jackson has only allowed three goals in seven games this season including a pair of shutouts this past weekend. She made three saves in ENMU's 2-0 victory over Texas A&M-Commerce and another eight in their 0-0 draw against TWU.

THE SERIES
The Lady Buffs lead the all-time series 14-6-3 having not lost to the Greyhounds since Oct. 17, 2014. Last season, the two teams played a pair of draws including a 1-1 contest on Oct. 25 in Canyon.

MSU TEXAS
Ryan Spence has the Mustangs off to a 2-4-1 record in his first season as the head coach after spending last season in the same position at Eastern New Mexico. He is no stranger to Stang Park, as he was a three-time All-American from 2008-11 for the Mustangs where he had a career record of 64-10-6.

The Mustangs have scored nine goals this season with three of those coming from freshman Senna Garcia. The Albuquerque, N.M. native scored in her first two career games before adding a third this past weekend. Avery Lewis has two of her own while Emma Baley has a team-high three assists.

Freshman Samantha Upton has started in all seven games in goal making 26 saves allowing 12 goals for a 73.3% save percentage. She recorded her first career shutout in the Mustangs 3-0 victory over UT Permian Basin on Sunday.

THE SERIES
MSU Texas holds a slim 21-20-3 advantage in the all-time series but the Lady Buffs have won four of the last six games. A win on Friday would give the Lady Buffs their first three-game winning streak in the series in more than 15 years.

MOVING ON UP
After entering the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll last week for the first time in eight years, the Lady Buffs moved up four spots to #21 in this week's rankings that were released on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Buffs are also ranked third in the South Central Regional rankings behind Colorado School of Mines and Metro State. Angelo State is the only other Lone Star Conference school represented in the regional ranking coming in at 10th.

A LOOK AT THE STREAK
A win on Wednesday night would give the Lady Buffs their eighth straight win matching the second-longest streak in program history. It would be the fifth-time a Lady Buffs squad has won eight straight and first since 2016.

DEFENSE... DEFENSE... DEFENSE
The Lady Buffs backline along with Courtney Dippel have been a key piece to the Lady Buffs early success having only allowed three goals over the past seven games. After consecutive shutouts this weekend, WT has only allowed one goal (which came from the penalty spot at Southern Nazarene) in the past five games.

STATS, READ ALL ABOUT THEM
Marlene van Mourik's 120 career shots are the seventh-most in program history. She needs 18 more to pass Miriam Dominguez (2006-09) and Adi Stein (2006-09) to move into the Top 5.

With seven saves this week, Courtne Dippel will become the second player in program history to record 300 saves. Her 293 saves are also 14 short of breaking Yvette Bedoy's (2010-13) record of 306.

Khaline Jacob's three game-winning goals are the eighth-most in a single season in program history. That total ranks her 10th in the nation behind Central Oklahoma's Katie Killion.

Khadidra Debesette became the eighth player in program history to eclipse 5,000 minutes in WT's 3-0 victory over Texas Woman's.

WT HEAD COACH CHAD WEBB
WT head coach Chad Webb, a two-time LSC Coach of the Year, is now in his ninth season at the helm of the Lady Buffs. He is 82-67-17 overall during his time in Canyon. He has led WT to a pair of NCAA appearances during his tenure.
