CANYON, Texas –
#13 West Texas A&M welcomes Central Baptist College to the First United Bank Center on Saturday, Dec. 29. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.

A LOOK BACK AT PITTSBURG STATE
Brandon Hall tied a career-high with six three-pointers as #13 West Texas A&M overcame a 16-point first half deficit to defeat Pittsburg State 93-80 late Tuesday night at the Las Vegas Hoopla. Hall was one of five Buffs in double figures as the WT outscored the Gorillas 51-33 in the second half to improve to 12-2 on the season and 5-0 in neutral site games this season.

WT finished the contest 30-of-57 (52.6%) from the floor, 14-of-29 (48.3%) from three-point range and 19-of-31 (61.3%) from the free throw line while pulling down 42 rebounds, 16 assists , 13 turnovers, five steals and three blocks. Hall finished the game with 23 points going 8-of-13 from the floor to go along with a career-high nine assists. Quaid had another big game down in the paint with 17 points and eight rebounds with freshman Grant and Murray both chipping in 15 points each. Gach Gach added 11 points as all five starters reached double digits in scoring for the second time in two days.

A LOOK AT CENTRAL BAPTIST
Central Baptist enters the contest 11-1 on the season following a 84-68 win over Crowley's Ridge on Dec. 18. The Mustangs possess one of the top scoring offenses in in all of the NAIA with five players averaging in double figures.

Percell Washington is the leading scorer for CBC at 17.8 points per game with the 6-foot-6 forward shooting a NAIA-best 69.5% from the floor. He also pulls down a team-high 9.2 rebounds which is the 11th best in the nation. Ruston Hayward can also score at will as the Houston, Texas native has scored in all double figures in all five of his appearances this season.

Victor Dukes is the third Mustang averaging over 15 points per game as the 6-foot-5 forward scores 16.1 points per game. He has cooled down after an impressive start to the season after scoring 20 or more points in three of the first six games. He was a driving factor scoring 31 points in CBC's victory over Adams.

First year head coach Clint Galyean is no stranger to the Lone Star Conference as he spent the 2016-17 season at Angelo State as a graduate assistant under head coach Cinco Boone. During the 2017-18 season, he served as an assistant under Chris Wright where he helped lead the Mustangs to their first appearance in the NAIA Men's Basketball Championship. He was also responsible for coaching the JV teams.

A LOOK AT CBC'S SCHEDULE
The Mustangs are 1-0 against Division II opponents with a 107-99 win over Adams State at the Angelo State Thanksgiving Classic. They have also registered a pair of exhibition losses to Ouachita Baptist and Texas A&M-Commerce on the road.

In their win over the Grizzlies, Victor Dukes had a game-high 31 points going 14-of-20 from the floor with Percell Washington chipping in 22 points of his own. The Mustangs only attempted 10 three pointers but shot 44-of-76 (57.9%) from the floor in the upset victory over ASU.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Saturday's contest will be the first all-time meeting between the programs. It will also be the Buffs first contest against the NAIA's American Midwest Conference.

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
Gach Gach continues to lead the nation in three point field goal attempts as the senior guard has reached double figures in five straight games. His 120 attempts from beyond the arc are one ahead of Concord's Jair Rodgers and five ahead of Kenny Hairston of Limestone.

The Austin, Minn. native also moved into the Top-10 in career three point attempts in Tuesday's game against Pittsburg State. His 305 career attempts are tied for ninth with Matt Madison, five behind Sean Harrison for 8th. He is also five makes short of joining Chad Bertrand in career three point field goals made.

Ryan Quaid's next appearance for the Buffs will move him into sole possession of second place in career games played. Heading into Saturday's contest, the senior has appeared in 116 games with 72 starts during his four-year career. He also needs three more makes from the free throw to pass Kyle Shields and move into fourth in career free throws made.

Quaid has scored in double figures in six straight games tying the second-longest streak in his career. Last season, he scored in six straight from Jan. 11-27 after scoring in 10 straight earlier in the season.

With Brandon Hall's 23-point performance against Pittsburg State, all five of WT's starting five have scored more than 20 points in at least on game this season. Joel Murray scored 20 against Lubbock Christian at home with Qua Grant getting 23 of his own on the road against Adams State while Gach Gach and Ryan Quaid having done it multiple times.

Head coach Tom Brown is 11-0 all-time against NAIA competition including a 94-49 win over Science & Arts (Okla.) earlier this season at the First United Bank Center.

WT HEAD COACH TOM BROWN
Fifth-year head coach Tom Brown won his 100th game at the helm of WT basketball in November 10th's 112-87 win over Adams State in Alamosa, Colo. It took him 136 to reach the plateau making him the fastest coach to eclipse the 100 win mark. The 2017-18 Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year has the fifth-best winning percentage in program history at 74.5%.

HALL NAMED LSC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
West Texas A&M senior guard Brandon Hall was named the Lone Star Conference Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week announced by the league's office on Monday afternoon.

Hall led the Buffs to a perfect 2-0 record at the Las Vegas Hoopla averaging 20.5 points, 5.5 assists and 4.5 rebound per game while shooting 16-of-31 (51.6%) from the floor and 6-of-12 (50.0%) from three point range. In Monday's overtime win over Washburn, the Arlington, Texas native had then season-high 18 points, four of those coming in overtime, going 8-of-18 (44.4%) from the field. He was even better on Tuesday against Pittsburg State with 23 points going a career-best 6-of-8 (75.0%) from beyond the arc as WT overcame a 16-point first half deficit to defeat the Gorillas. He also dished out a career-high nine assists with only one turnover as WT improved to 12-2 on the season.

A LOOK AT THE RANKINGS
West Texas A&M remained 13th in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II Top-25 released on Dec. 21 by the leagues office in Kansas City, Mo. They also remained 10th in the D2SIDA National Media Poll.
