2020-21 (Junior)
Started in all 22 games for the Buffs averaging a career-best 23.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game shooting 47.0 percent, 30.0 percent from 3-point range and 80.7 percent from the free throw line. His 23.3 points per game is the third-most in a single season in program history. Scored in double figures including 17 games with 20-plus. Named USBWA National Player of the Week after scoring a career-high 37 points against Lubbock Christian. Also scored 31 points in WT’s Elite Eight win over Daemen.
2019-20 (Sophomore)
Earned All-American honors for the first time in his career after starting in all 33 games for the Buffs where he scored a career-best 19.9 points per game while shooting 47.8 percent from the floor, 37.5 percent from 3-point range and 79.6 percent from the free throw line. He also led the team in assists at 4.5 per game while pulling down a total of 141 rebounds and recording 66 steals. He scored in double figures in 31 games including 18 games with 20-plus including a career-best 32 points against UT Permian Basin on Feb. 1 and Texas A&M-Commerce on March 6. He recorded 15 games with five or more assists including a pair of nine assist games. Also recorded a career-high nine rebounds against UT Tyler. Was named the LSC Tournament Most Valuable Player after leading the Buffs to their third straight LSC Championship with a come-from-behind win over No. 9 St. Edward’s.
2018-19 (Freshman)
Murray was one of the top defenders in the Lone Star Conference as he appeared in 38 games with 34 starts averaging 28.3 minutes per contest. He finished the season averaging 11.7 point per contest going 151-of-323 from the floor, 39-of-121 from three-point range and 103-of-142 from the free throw line. He also pulled down 123 rebounds (3.2/avg) while dishing out a team-high 139 assists and eight blocks. His 67 steals were the most by a freshman in program history and second-most in a single season in program history. Finished the season scoring in double figures in 24 games including a career-high 26 against Texas A&M-Kingsville (2/16) where he went a season-best 10-of-16 from the floor. Dished out a season-best nine assists three times while recording five steals against Tarleton (2/21) and Angelo State (2/14).
Rowlett High School:
Murray comes to WT after an impressive prep career at Rowlett High School. As a senior, he averaged 13.9 points per game leading RHS to its third straight playoff appearance. During his three-year varsity career, he played in 88 games while averaging 10.5 points per game while dishing out 1.2 assists per game. He also earned All-District honors three times including a pair of First Team selections as a junior and senior.
