CANYON, Texas. - The West Texas A&M women's soccer team are set to host its first Lone Star Conference matches of the season this weekend when Angelo State and UT Permian visit The Pitch. The Rambelles and Lady Buffs will face off on Friday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. while the match against the Falcons is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m.

What is Next?...
The Lady Buffs will have a quick turnaround when Eastern New Mexico visits the Pitch on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. WT will then make the short trip down to Wichita Falls to face off against No. 24 Midwestern State in a Highway 287 Challenge matchup on Friday, Oct. 7.

About Angelo State…
The Rambelles boast one of the top offenses in the Lone Star Conference as they have outscored opponents 12-4 with 10 of those goals coming in the first half. ASU averages 19.1 shots per game with nearly half of those being on target.
The Rambelles attack is led by senior Demi Tsambasis, who leads the conference in goals (7), points (14), game-winning goals (3), Â and shots (38). The Temecula, Calif. native also has 21 shots on goal for a shot on goal percentage of .553. Junior Tiffany Dang has been the main distributor for the Rambelles with a team-high three assists while Haley Mendel and Shay Williams have two assists a piece.
Freshman goalkeeper Sammy Cude has started seven matches for the Rambelles making 24 saves on 41 shots faced. She leads the conference in goals against average (.333) and shutouts per game (.391).

West Texas A&M and Angelo State will meet for the 34
th time in school history. The Lady Buffs lead the all-time series 16-12-5.

About UT Permian Basin…
The Falcons are still looking for their first win of the season six matches into the season. UTPB has struggled offensively having only scored two goals while allowing 14. They do average 8.7 shots per match with nearly three of those being on target.
Ariel Roybal and Kessie Stocker have been the goal scorers for the Falcons while Elizabeth Garcia has provided the lone assist. Freshman goalkeeper Katie Conn has gotten the starting nod in five matches for the Falcons this year making 27 saves while facing 74 shots.

The Series with UT Permian Basin…
The Lady Buffs and Falcons will face off for the 13
th time in school history. WT leads the all-time series 12-0-0 and 5-0-0 in Canyon.

A Look Back…
The Lady Buffs opened Lone Star Conference play with a split on the road against Texas Woman's and No. 11 Texas A&M-Commerce. WT sits in a three-way tie for second place in the LSC with three points.
Khadidra Debesette scored two first half goals as the Lady Buffs defeated the Pioneers 2-1 in Denton on Friday night. It marks the second time in her career that she has scored multiple goals in the same match.
The Lady Buffs match against Texas A&M-Commerce originally scheduled for Sunday morning was postponed until Monday because of lighting. The Lions scored two in the second half to hand WT its first loss in three matches.

Lone Star Conference in the Rankings…
Texas A&M-Commerce moved up four spots to No. 11 in the latest NSCAA polls as Midwestern State made their first appearance of the season at No. 24. The Lions and Mustangs won both of their matches last weekend and sit atop the LSC standings.

van Mourik Named Player of the Week…
Freshman
Marlene van Mourik picked up WT's first piece of hardware last Wednesday when she was named the Lone Star Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week. The Hovborg, Denmark scored two goals from the penalty spot while adding an assist in the Lady Buffs 5-1 victory over Southern Nazarene on Sept. 17.
