CANYON, Texas. - The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M will host #21 Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday, Oct. 21 at The Pitch in a battle of two of the top teams in the south central region. WT enters the matchup having won five straight matches for the first time since 2008 while the Lions have a six match winning streak of their own. After hosting TAMUC, the Lady Buffs will host Texas Woman's on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 1 p.m.

What is Next?...
The Lady Buffs will head to Portales for a midweek showdown with rival against Eastern New Mexico on Wednesday, Oct. 26 before hosting Midwestern State on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m. at The Pitch for Senior Day.

The Lone Star Conference leading Lions of Texas A&M-Commerce have won their previous six matches outscoring opponents 13-1 over that span. Savannah Grasser leads the Lions attack with a nine goals, two assists for 20 total points. The senior forward's nine goals rank second in the Lone Star Conference. Vicky Back ranks second on the team with five goals and three assists while freshman Michelle Kotlik leads the team with six assists. Sophomore Caitlin Duty has started in all 14 matches for the Lady Buffs making 56 saves while only allowing 0.67 goals per game. The Crandall, Texas native already has eight shutouts while only allowing nine goals.

West Texas A&M and Texas A&M-Commerce will meet up for the 37
th time in school history. The Lady Buffs lead the all-time series 20-14-2 and defeated the Lions 1-0 the last time the two teams meet at The Pitch.

The Lady Buffs dropped a 2-0 contest to the Lions on Monday, Sept. 26 after the match scheduled for Sunday was cancelled due to lightning. Grasser scored two second half goals to lift the Lions over WT.

About Texas Woman's…
The Pioneers had a strong start to the season winning their first four matches but have six of their last 10 matches. They have scored 15 goals while only allowing 14 in 14 matches this season.
Junior Chelsea Martin is the leading scorer for TWU with seven goals and 14 points. The forward from The Colony, Texas native also leads the team in 45 shots, 18 shots on goal and game-winning goals(2). Cathey Blaine is the only other player to have scored more than one goal while Rachel Peters has a team-high three assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Samantha Jimenez has started in goal in every game for the Pioneers making 79 saves while facing 208 shots. She has accounted for six shutouts while only allowing 14 goals for a 0.98 goals against average.

The Lady Buffs and Texas Woman's will face off for the 21
st time in school history. WT leads the all-time series 14-4-2 including a 9-0-0 record at home.

The Lady Buffs opened their 2016 Lone Star Conference campaign with a 2-1 victory over the Pioneers.
Khadidra Debesette scored two first half goals before WT held off a TWU rally in the final minutes to secure their first LSC win of the season.

A Look Back…
The Lady Buffs have now won five straight matches for the first time since 2008 courtesy of road victories over UT Permian Basin and Angelo State last weekend. WT now sits alone in second place with 18 points with a key matchup up with Texas A&M-Commerce looming this Friday.
The Debesette twins, Khadidra and Khadisha, proved all the offense for WT on Friday night against UTPB as Khadisha scored her first goal of the season. The sophomore center back headed home the game-winner off a corner kick from
Karyn Forbes. Khadidra got in the scoring act at 38:40 when she got on the end of Forbes pass before beating the keeper to double the Lady Buffs advantage and put the match out of reach for the Falcons.
Ronni Ajeto's wonder strike from 33 yards out at 50:45 proved to be difference as the Lady Buffs defeated the Rambelles 1-0 in San Angelo for the second consecutive match.
Courtney Dippel made four saves giving her 155 for her career and moving her into fifth all-time in career saves.

Lone Star Conference in the Rankings…
The Lions of Texas A&M-Commerce moved up three spots to No. 21 in the latest NSCAA rankings released on Tuesday afternoon. TAMUC won all three of their matches last week including a 2-0 victory over Dallas Baptist. Four LSC teams are represented in the NSCAA South Central Regional including WT at No. 6. TAMUC is third flowed by WT, Angelo State (9
th) and Midwestern State (10
th).

NCAA South Central Regional Rankings…
The Lady Buffs are ranked sixth in the first edition of the NCAA South Central Regional Rankings. Colorado Mines ranks first while TAMUC is second followed by St. Edward's and CSU-Pueblo. Metro State is fifth, WT is sixth with Angelo State and Texas Woman's coming in seventh and eighth respectively.

Ajeto Named LSC Offensive Player of the Week…
West Texas A&M freshman forward
Ronni Ajeto has been named the Lone Star Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week announced on Wednesday afternoon by the league's offices in Richardson, Texas. Ajeto joins fellow freshman
Marlene van Mourik as the only two Lady Buffs to earn those honors this year.
Ajeto propelled the Lady Buffs to their fifth consecutive victory scoring the game-winner against Angelo State on Sunday afternoon in San Angelo. The Henderson, Nevada native scored her first career game winner in the 51
st minute on a strike from 33 yards to give the Lady Buffs their second straight road victory over the Rambelles. She ranks second on the team in goals (5) and points (10) heading into the final two weeks of the regular season.
