DENTON, Texas  – After nearly five days on the road and two postponed matches, the Lady Buffs long weekend came to an end on Monday afternoon in a 2-1 loss to Texas Woman's. WT stretched TWU's defense repeatedly during the match but struggled to convert in front of the net. Lucy Chalgren scored the lone goal for the Lady Buffs in the 20th minute on an assist from Khadidtra Debesette in the loss.

Karyn Forbes nearly put the Lady Buffs ahead in the first ten minutes but her shot was denied by Arianna Morrison. The Lady Pioneers responded quickly on the counter attack as Natalia Diaz scored her sixth of the season. Diaz's found space just outside the box and placed the ball in  the left corner of the goal. The Lady Buffs wasted no time tying the match up at 1-1 as Chalgren scored her first goal of the season in 20th minute. Chalgren pounced on a rebound in front of the net and pushed it past Morrision. With the match tied, TWU responded with shots from Diaz and Ryleigh Spivey but Courtney Dippel made the saves in the latter stages of the first half. After the first 45 minutes, the Lady Buffs held a 7-6 advantage in shots forcing Morrison to make five saves.

Dippel made key saves in the 47th and 56th minute to keep the match level but TWU would find pay dirt in the 69th minute. Rachel Peters got on the end of Nancy Chavez's cross to give the Pioneers a 2-1 advantage. After allowing the goal, the Lady Buffs pushed more players forward which resulted in more chances on goal. Kaitlin Steele's head off a corner in the 78th minute sailed high while both Aryn Douroudian and Rachel Herring nearly equalized in the 86th minute but were denied by Morrison.
