CANYON, Texas – The No. 11/14 West Texas A&M women's basketball team continues at home Wednesday as it hosts Angelo State in a Lone Star Conference game beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the First United Bank Center. The Lady Buffs are 10-2 on the year and 1-1 in Lone Star Conference play, while Angelo State is 5-8 and 0-3 in league play.

Following the disappointing loss at Midwestern State last week, the Lady Buffs fell from No. 3 in the USA Today/WBCA Top 25 Poll to No. 11 and from fifth to 14
th in the D2 Sports Information Director's Poll. Midwestern State is sixth in the D2 SIDA poll and 21
st in the USA Today poll this week. Midwestern State took over the top spot in the South Central Region D2 SIDA poll with WT second this week, too.
WT is coming off of an 87-69 victory Saturday over visiting Cameron University. The Lady Buffs had five players in double figures in the game led by 16 points from junior
Danielle Logan who was 6 of 9 from the field and 4 of 7 from beyond the arc. Sophomore
Sasha Watson added 15 points on 6 of 10 from the field with eight assists and three steals. The Lady Buffs shot a season-best 70 percent from the field on 21 of 30 in the first half and outscored the Aggies 54-31. For the game, WT was 34 of 55 for a 61.8 clip which also was a season-high.
Angelo State has dropped three-straight games heading into Wednesday's contest. Prior to that, ASU had won four-straight to close non-conference play with a 5-5 record. Texas A&M-Commerce handed ASU an 80-57 setback on Sunday, while Texas Woman's won 68-59 last Saturday.
The Rambelles are led by Jasmine Caston who leads the team averaging 14.6 points as she is a team-best 60 of 159 from the field for a .377 average. Caston is 14 of 43 from beyond the arc and a team-high 56 of 76 from the line for a .737 average. She is third in rebounding at 4.3 per game and is third in assists with 24 and leads the team with 20 steals.
Second on the team in scoring is Amanda Weaver at 11.2 points per game. Weaver is 46 of 109 from the field and 32 of 66 from beyond the arc for a .485 clip ranking her ninth nationally and first in the conference, while going 21 of 24 from the line. Weaver leads the team in rebounding at 4.9 per game and has a team-high 30 assists on the season.
As a team, the Rambelles are shooting .400 from the field, .351 from beyond the arc with 61 triples and .679 from the line on 188 of 277. ASU is averaging 41.3 rebounds per game, but allowing 39.1. The Rambelles are scoring 64.7 points per game and allowing 64.4 per contest. ASU leads the conference in defensive rebounds (27) and 3-point field goal percentage defense holding teams to just .274 from beyond the arc.
WT leads the all-time series with Angelo State 44-13. The Lady Buffs won both meetings last season, including a 95-56 victory in Canyon on Feb. 5. The Lady Buffs have won four straight in the series, four of five and nine of 10. Angelo State has not won in Canyon since Feb. 3, 2005. Since then, WT is 10-0 and 25-5 all-time in Canyon.

Chontiquah White who is averaging 17.5 points and 8.9 rebounds per game as she ranks second in the conference in both areas. White is 72 of 130 from the field for a .554 average which ranks her 24
th nationally and tops in the LSC. She is 63 of 80 from the line for a .788 clip and leads the conference averaging four offensive rebounds per game and 42 for the season. Watson is second in scoring at 13.4 points per game. She is 58 of 102 from the field for a .569 clip and leads the team with 42 assists (3.5) and 40 steals (3.33) which is 10
th nationally and first in the league. Senior
Danielle Logan leads the team with 20 triples on the season.
As a team, the Lady Buffs are shooting at .482 clip which is fourth nationally and first in the league. WT is 336 of 697 from the field. The Lady Buffs have made 70 triples and are shooting at a .337 clip from range, while going 186 of 282 from the line for a .660 average. WT is averaging 38.1 rebounds per game and allowing 31.5 for a 6.6 margin which is second in the LSC to Midwestern State (6.8). The Lady Buffs ae scoring 77.3 points per game which is 25
th nationally and tops in the league, while allowing 65.0 points per game.

th nationally in assists averaging 16.8 which is tops in the conference and they lead the league in steals at 11.8 per game which is 16
th nationally. WT also leads the league in assist/turnover ratio at 0.99 ranking 55
th nationally.
Following Wednesday's game, the Lady Buffs head on the road for a Saturday game at Texas A&M-Kingsville at 2 p.m. WT then travels to Tarleton State next Wednesday, before returning home to host Texas A&M-Commerce on Jan. 24 and Texas Woman's on Jan. 25.
