Kickoff is set to begin at 7 p.m. with the Pioneers. Then on Saturday, West Texas A&M will welcome Heartland Conference opponent Dallas Baptist to The Pitch in Canyon, Texas for noon match.

LSC PRESEASON POLL: Prior to the season, the Lady Buffs were selected third in the LSC Preseason Poll with 61 total votes. Midwestern State topped the list with six first-place votes and 80 total followed by now-14
th ranked Angelo State with seven first-place votes and 72 overall. Rounding out the list were Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas Woman's, and Eastern New Mexico, respectively. Additionally, senior defender
Rhea Belgrave was tabbed LSC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. The Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, native, earned the identical regular season honor in 2013 as a junior.
WAYLAND BAPTIST AT A GLANCE: The Pioneers will enter Thursday's game with a 0-5-1 record and have been shutout in three straight matches. They compete in the Sooner Athletic Conference of the NAIA. Outside of NAIA competition, WBU has dropped two contests to Abilene Christian and Lubbock Christian, both 3-0 results. The Pioneers have played a very tough schedule overall as they have also lost contests to ranked teams, No. 19 Our Lady of the Lake and No. 24 Benedictine. So far, they have been outscored on the year 14-2.
Jodian Morris and Haley Reiser have both tallied goals for WBU and have combined for 25 shots on the season. Bailey Stengler has started all six games for WBU in goal and has allowed 14 goals with a 2.37 GAA, .632 save percentage and has tallied 24 saves.
Shiloh Posey enters his eighth season at the helm of the Pioneer women's soccer program. He joined the Wayland coaching staff in 2007 after the reinstatement of the women's soccer program after a three-year absence. He has led the Pioneers to three SAC tournament berths, the program's first ever in 2008 and again in 2012 and '13. Posey's 2013 squad set the school record for wins with 13 and won his first post season match after defeating USAO, 1-0, advancing to the SAC semifinals.
Thursday's match will be the first-ever meeting between the Lady Buffs and Pioneers.
DALLAS BAPTIST AT A GLANCE: DBU has looked impressive to begin the 2014 fall season. The Patriots currently own a 2-1-1 record after facing some very tough opponents. They opened up the season with a 1-1 tie at then-No. 9 Colorado Mines before receiving their only loss thus far at then-No.16 Metro State, 2-1. DBU then picked up back-to-back wins at home over RMAC opponents, defeating Colorado Mesa, 2-0, and Fort Lewis, 1-0.
Ashley Cox has been the leading Patriot on the field offensively as she has tallied two goals, including one game-winner, four points, and 17 shots, all team-highs. Lea Sedwick, Emilie MacDonald, and Jolee Patterson have also contributed one goal each. Kerry Edwards has seen the start in all four matches thus far. She holds a .71 GAA, .857 save percentage, only allowing three goals, and has tallied and 18 saves and two shutouts.
Michelle Lenard returns for her seventh season at the helm of the DBU women's soccer program. She holds a career record of 85-49-6. The Patriots compete in the Heartland Conference.
The Patriots had a successful season in 2013, going 17-7-1 while reaching the NCCAA Nationals. The Lady Buffs are tied with the Patriots in the all-time series, 3-3. WT's last meeting was a 1-0 overtime loss in Dallas on Sept. 14, 2013.
NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS REVISITED: The Lady Buffs fell Thursday night in a 2-0 road loss to regional opponent New Mexico Highlands. The Cowgirls grabbed a late second half goal in the 71st minute to find the winning score and improve to 2-1 on the season. The Cowgirls held the slight edge in shots at halftime, 2-1; however, both teams only had one shot-on-goal. Freshman
McKynzie Zick and Beecher had one stop apiece.
Anyssa Dagnino then gave the home team the lead in the 71st minute as she beat Zick inside 15 yards off an assist by Rainey Pelzel. Then in the 82nd minute, the Cowgirls grabbed an insurance goal off a free kick by Schuder to make the final score 2-0.
The Cowgirls edged out WT in shots, 9-5, while the Lady Buffs held the advantage in shots-on-goal, 5-4. Zick took the loss with two saves. Beecher grabbed the win as she finished the night with five saves.
UT-PERMIAN BASIN REVISITED: WT earned its first victory of the season in a dominating 4-0 performance over University of Texas of the Permian Basin at The Pitch in Canyon, Texas on Saturday afternoon. Junior
Emily Krenek tallied back-to-back goals in under a minute during the first half to give the Lady Buffs the win in their home opener. WT now improves to 1-3 while the Falcons drop their record to 0-4 on the year.
Krenek caught fire early as she scored two quick goals from identical locations just 49 seconds apart to give the Lady Buffs the early 2-0 advantage. Her first came at the 15:59 as she took a pass from sophomore
Karyn Forbes at the close left wing and dribbled around a defender and beat the keeper from point blank range inside the near post.
Under a minute later, at the 16:48 mark, Forbes attempted a shot from the top of the box; however, the ball was blocked by a Falcons' defender right into the feet of Krenek. The junior then took the shot, beating Campbell once again inside the left post over her right shoulder.
WT dominated the stat sheet through the first 45 minutes of play. The Lady Buffs held the strong advantage in shots, 10-2, and shots-on-goal, 6-1. Krenek led the way with three while seven others had one each.
The Falcons then put together half the work for WT in its third goal in the 70th minute. Sophomore
Brady Prescott took a pass near the top of the box on the left wing and dribbled in, striking a shot into the left post. The rebound bounced right into a UTPB defender and then found the net for an own goal.
The Lady Buffs would do their final damage in the 75th minute. Junior
Taylor Laubhan took another corner for the home team which connected perfectly for Belgrave to head in the score, securing the decisive 4-0 victory.
The Lady Buffs finished off the match this afternoon with 19 total shots and 10 on-goal while the Falcons managed only five shots, four of them on target. Leading the way for WT was Krenek with four attempts followed by Belgrave, freshman
Lucy Chalgren, Laubhan and junior
Dominique Premac with two each. Zick earned her first victory of the year as she improves her record to 1-3 as well, tallying four saves in the contest. Campbell took the loss and now drops her record to 0-3.
