EASTERN NEW MEXICO AT A GLANCE: The Zias will arrive in Canyon on Friday with a 4-4 overall record, and like the Lady Buffs, a 1-1 mark in LSC play. After beginning the season with consecutive losses against the RMAC's Western State (3-2) and Regis (2-1), ENMU rebounded to win four of its next six matches. It defeated Adams State at home (2-1) before losing on the road at New Mexico Highlands (4-0). The Zias were scheduled for three straight home matches afterwards which ended up in two wins against Southern Nazarene (1-0) and Texas A&M-International (4-2) along with a cancelled contest with UT-Permian Basin. They opened up conference play last weekend with a 3-1 loss to TAMUC and a 2-1 overtime victory at TWU.

ENMU has been led offensively between three girls up top. Victoria Perez leads the team in both goals (four) and points (eight). She has also contributed two game-winners. Alyssa Prince and Maurisa Jones have both added three goals for the Zias. Alyxandra Ortiz has seen the majority of time in goal going 2-3 in five starts and 440 minutes. She owns a 1.84 GAA and .679 save percentage while tallying 19 saves.

At helm of the Zias' soccer program for his first season is Omar Morales, former WT men's soccer assistant coach and player.

WT is 10-4-1 all-time against the Zias. Last season the Lady Buffs dropped the first game in Portales, 4-1, before playing to a scoreless draw in Canyon.

SOUTHERN NAZARENE AT A GLANCE: The Crimson Storm currently owns a 4-5 record and a 2-1 mark in GAC play. They have picked up wins against Rogers State (2-0), Oklahoma Christian (3-0), SWOSU (5-1) and NW Oklahoma State (2-0) while dropping contests to Minot State (1-0), Mary, N.D. (4-1), ENMU (1-0), MSU (6-1) and East Central (1-2).

SNU has been led offensively by Mallary Pineda who has scored a team-high five goals and 13 points. Three others have added multiple goals. Natasha Fuentes has made all nine starts in goal and owns a 1.64 GAA and a .700 save percentage with 35 saves and three shutouts in 821 minutes between the pipes.

Monday's matchup will be the first-ever meeting between WT and SNU.

TEXAS WOMAN'S REVISITED: After grabbing the early first-half lead in Denton on Friday night, the West Texas A&M women's soccer team gave up two second-half goals, including a late score in the 85th minute, to fall to Texas Woman's 2-1 in both teams' LSC opening match. The Lady Buffs fell to 3-5 (0-1 LSC) with the loss while the Pioneers improved to 6-1 and 1-0 in league play.

Senior Jessie Thomas scored her first goal of the season on Friday night after missing the previous two matches. Her goal gave WT an early first half lead which it carried on into the second frame before TWU was able to tie the game up in the 62nd minute. The Pioneers then tallied the late score in the 85th minute to secure the win.

The Pioneers doubled up the Lady Buffs in shots for the match, 14-7. They also held a slight edge in shots-on-goal, 5-3. WT took two corners compared to TWU's one.

Krenek, WT's leading goal-scorer, ripped a shot into the crossbar at the 32:21 point. Less than 60 seconds later, in the 34th minute, Thomas would chip in the go-ahead score to give WT the 1-0 lead. It would be Thomas's first goal of the season after leading the team in goals a year ago with eight.

TWU would finally find the equalizer at the 61:13 mark of the second half. A free kick was awarded to the Pioneers after a Lady Buff handball the play before, setting up Madison Purdy who sank the shot to knot the match at 1-1. It would be her first goal of the season for the Pioneers. The Pioneers then picked up the game-winner at the 84:16 mark to hand the Lady Buffs the loss in their LSC opener. Emily Davila found the net for her second score of the season and was assisted by Coppedge.

TEXAS A&M-COMMERCE REVISITED: Despite facing a season-high 30 shots, including 21 in the second half, on Sunday afternoon in Commerce, Texas, the West Texas A&M women's soccer team was able to defeat Texas A&M-Commerce 1-0 off a late penalty kick score in the 78th minute by senior Rhea Belgrave. The Lady Buffs improved to 4-5 overall and 1-1 in Lone Star Conference play, while all four of their wins so far this season have been shutouts. With the loss, the Lions fell to 6-3 (1-1, LSC).

Sophomore transfer Nicole Kemper, making her first appearance in goal this season, received the starting nod for WT and earned the victory while being forced to stop nine shots in the 90 minutes.

The Lions held the strong favor in time of possession as well as shots over WT, 30-11, with an endless attack. TAMUC also led in shots-on-goal, 9-5. Courtnie Northern took the loss between the pipes, dropping her record to 6-3. She tallied four saves on the afternoon and allowed one goal.

The Lady Buffs caught a much needed break in the 78th minute after a foul inside the box. Belgrave took the penalty kick for WT and converted for her third goal, and second game-winner, of the season to give the Lady Buffs a crucial road LSC victory.

Krenek led the way for WT with four shots Sunday while Girard and freshman Sydney Hickerson tallied two each.

WT improved to 19-10-2 all-time against the Lions and has now won two-straight in the series and is undefeated in the previous four meetings. Webb also picked up his 40th career win in the match. He is now 40-37-11 (.517) so far through his fifth season at the helm of the Lady Buff soccer program.
