WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- The West Texas A&M University women's soccer team claimed its second Lone Star Conference Tournament Championship in three years, as the third-seeded Lady Buffs, ranked No. 25 in the NSCAA/adidas Top 25 Poll, shutout top-seeded and 12th-ranked Texas A&M-Commerce, 1-0, Sunday at Midwestern State University at Wichita Falls, Texas.
With the win, the Lady Buffs ran their unbeaten streak to 11 games, including seven wins in a row.
Freshman forward Sarit Shenar found the back of the net on an unassisted goal in the 82nd minute to claim the victory for WTAMU, as the Lady Buffs capped their third-straight LSC Tournament title game appearance with the second championship in three years.
WTAMU won it all in 2001 and was beaten by Central Oklahoma last season.

Shenar added to her new school record for single-season goals, which she established in WTAMU's 2-0 semifinal win Saturday, and now has 19 goals on the season and a school-record 43 points.
With four goals in the Tournament, Shenar was named LSC Tournament MVP, and was joined on the All-Tournament team by four WTAMU defensive players: Griffis, senior defenders Kellie Garrett and Chrissy Arndt, and freshman defender Cassie Burke.
TAMUC is now 16-2-3 overall, while WTAMU is 14-3-2.
The two teams could meet again this weekend, in the NCAA-II Midwest Regional, as the pairings and the site will be announced Monday (Nov. 11) evening. TAMUC was ranked second and WTAMU third in the last rankings (Nov. 5).
