CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs open the fall portion of their 2026-27 schedule beginning on Sunday as they take part in the WinStar Invitational hosted by DBU at WinStar Golf Club in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
 
WINSTAR INVITATIONAL
The tournament will feature eight teams playing 56 total holes across Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The tournament field includes: DBU, Southeastern Oklahoma State, Midwestern State, St. Mary's, Harding, West Texas A&M, Angelo State and Missouri-St. Louis.
 
WinStar Golf boasts two championship courses, each designed to challenge and delight golfers of all skill levels. The Redbud Course offers an elevated player's experience defined by striking scenery, strategic character, and unparalleled playability. Originally designed by world-famous golf course architect D.A. Weibring and Wolfard Golf Design, this course was meticulously renovated in 2026 to deliver the highest standard of play inspired by the winning spirit of WinStar World Casino & Resort.
 
Laser-leveled tee boxes, Tahoma 31 fairways, Tifton 10 roughs and velvety-smooth TifEagle Bermuda greens create a golfer's paradise with playable yards ranging from 4,968 to 7,116. The addition of strategic bunkers adds even more complexity to the course, while new Oklahoma native foliage brings out the natural beauty of its Red River backdrop.
 
A LOOK AT THE LADY BUFFS
The Lady Buffs return four players from last year's NCAA West Regional qualifying team while adding a pair of talented transfers. Kara Holm and Mia Hammerschmid earned Honorable Mention All-Lone Star Conference accolades a year ago with five combined top ten finishes highlighted by Hammerschmid's first collegiate victory at the Palm Valley Classic.
 
Holly Duddy and Tasnim Smaili add high-level junior college experience for the Lady Buffs in 2026. Duddy was an All-KJCCC selection with seven different top ten finishes at Garden City Community College last season while Smaili led Weatherford College to the NTJCA Conference Title and an appearance in the NJCAA National Tournament.
 
HEAD COACH MEREDITH JAMESON
Meredith Jameson enters her 22^nd season in Canyon as she has led WT to 41 team tournament victories and 39 individual wins from 20 different players. Jameson has coached the Lady Buffs to the NCAA Division II National Tournament nine times in her career at West Texas A&M with 15 Regional Championship Appearances.
 
2026 FALL SCHEDULE
The 2026 fall schedule for the Lady Buffs features four tournaments beginning this weekend in Oklahoma. The Lady Buffs will host the annual West Texas A&M Invite at La Paloma Golf Course in Amarillo on September 28-29 before competing in the NCAA National Preview (October 3-4) and the Midwestern State Invitational (October 19-20).
