CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M's Mia Hammerschmid shot a two-under 70 during the second round of the WinStar Invitational at the Scissortail course at WinStar Golf Club (Par 72 – 6,218 Yards) in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
 
The Düsseldorf, Germany native had four birdies during Monday's second round with three of them coming on the back nine. Hammerschmid is tied for the lowest par-three scoring average (2.88) while sitting tied for third on par-five scoring (4.63). The sophomore has seven total birdies over the first 36 holes with 24 pars and just five bogeys.
 
The Lady Buffs have shot rounds of 293 and 299 to sit third on the team leaderboard with a 592 (+16). WT enters the final round with 26 birdies and 130 pars as they are tied for the lowest par-three scoring average (3.15) while also sitting second in par-five scoring (4.92).
 
DBU holds a 24-stroke advantage (567, -9) over St. Mary's (+15, 591) as Madison Ude of DBU has shot identical rounds of 69 over the first two days for a 138 (-6) to hold a three-stroke lead over Southeastern Oklahoma State's Emma Thompson (141, -3) on the individual leaderboard.
 
Tuesday's final round will see the Lady Buffs paired with DBU, St. Mary's and Midwestern State with traditional tee times beginning on the first hole at 8:50 a.m.
