CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M women's golf head coach Meredith Jameson has announced the addition of NJCAA standout and Morocco native Tasnim Smaili for the 2026-27 season.
 
"Tasnim brings a wealth of experience from high level national and international events. She is very skilled at handling the mental side of the game in all situations" said Jameson "When I watched Tasnim at the NJCAA National Championship, she first caught my eye with a great par save that showed she can score from anywhere in any situation."
 
Smaili to Canyon after spending the 2025-26 season at Weatherford College in Weatherford, Texas where she registered three different Top 5 finishes for the Coyotes, leading WC to the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Championship and an appearance in the NJCAA National Tournament. 
 
Smaili began her collegiate career with a fourth-place finish at the Texas Intercollegiate while also finishing fifth at the Texas Wesleyan Spring Invitational. Tasnim shot rounds of 71, 74 and 75 for a 217 (+4) at the NJCAA Southwest District Championships to finish third overall. She was named to the NTJCAC All-Conference squad as well as the NJCAA All-Region V team. Smaili competed at the NJCAA Division I Championships, finishing 29th overall.
 
Tasnim registered a standout prep career at Hassan ll in Rabat, Morocco where She was a two-time Moroccan Junior Champion in 2023 and 2024 while also claiming the National Scholar Championship in 2024. She is the daughter of Nabil and Hanan Smaili and she has two siblings, Maryem and Mayssam. Tasnim is expected to major in Psychology at West Texas A&M.
