CANYON, Texas – The #19 Lady Buffs claimed their second individual victory of the season on Tuesday afternoon as Tasnim Smaili prevailed on the first playoff hole at the WT Fall Invitational (Par 71 – 5,801 Yards) at La Paloma Golf Course in Amarillo, Texas.
 
The sophomore carded rounds of 67, 70 and 71 for a total of 208 (-5), Tuesday's final round featured three birdies and 12 pars for a 71 (E). The Rabat, Morocco native entered a playoff with Anvesha Gulhane of UT Dallas as Smaili chipped her third shot on the 366-yard par-four ninth hole to within inches to tap in for par for her first collegiate victory.
 
Mia Hammerschmid put together another impressive performance for the Lady Buffs as the sophomore shot in the red on Tuesday with a -1 (70) highlighted by four birdies to finish tied for fifth overall. Kara Holm competed as an individual for the Lady Buffs, carding rounds of 75, 71 and 73 for a 219 (+6) to finish 16^th overall.
 
UT Dallas claimed the team championship with a total of 851 (-1) for a 13-stroke victory over West Texas A&M (+12, 864). Cal State Monterey Bay (867) finished third followed by Cal State LA (879) and CSU Pueblo (886) to round out the top five.
 
The Lady Buffs return to the course on Saturday and Sunday as they make their way to Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida to take part in the NCAA National Preview hosted by Rollins at the Mission Resort Club.
