CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M sophomore Mia Hammerschmid has been named the Lone Star Conference Women's Golfer of the Week announced on Friday afternoon by the league's offices in Richardson, Texas.
 
The Düsseldorf, Germany native claimed her second career victory on Tuesday in dramatic fashion, making a three-foot birdie putt on the 18^th hole to shoot a 70 (-2) in the final round of the WinStar invitational in Thackerville. Hammerschmid finished the event with a total score of 212 (-4) as she shot rounds of 72, 70 and 70. 
 
The Lady Buffs return to the course on September 28-29 as they host the annual West Texas A&M Invite at La Paloma Golf Course in Amarillo, Texas.
