CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M's Axel Ochoa was tabbed the Lone Star Conference Co-Coach of the Year with a pair of Buffs earning postseason honors during the league's annual awards banquet in Rockwall, Texas on Sunday night.
 
Ochoa is in his seventh season leading the Buffs, becoming the first WT head men's coach to claim LSC Coach of the Year accolades with WT ranking 20^th in the Clippd Division II Poll entering the postseason. The Buenos Aires, Argentina native has led WT to a pair of tournament victories this season at the Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya and the Oak Tree Invitational.
 
Senior Luis Palomo earned First Team All-LSC honors while Santiago Caride was named to the league's Second Team.
 
Palomo ranks 40^th in the country and 7^th in the region as the senior has registered an adjusted scoring average of 71.2 over 26 total rounds. The Barcelona, Spain product claimed four Top-10 finished highlighted by a win at the San Juan Intercollegiate back in September.
 
Caride has tallied an adjusted scoring average of 71.7 over 26 rounds for the Buffs during his senior campaign, finishing inside the Top-25 during five tournaments including a victory at the Pilgrim's Run Invite on September 8-9 in Michigan.
 
The Buffs enter the Lone Star Conference Championships with high hopes as they look for the program's fifth straight appearance in the NCAA Postseason. WT starts the league's championship tournament on Monday at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Center.
