CANYON, Texas – The #7 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M look to rebound as they continue Lone Star Conference action on the road on Thursday night as they take on the Cameron Aggies with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m. at Aggie Gym in Lawton, Oklahoma.

TEXAS WOMAN'S REWIND
The then #6 Lady Buffs battled all afternoon before falling to the #3 Texas Woman's Pioneers in a Lone Star Conference overtime thriller. The loss snapped a 19-game win streak for the Lady Buffs, the seventh longest in program history.
Kyla Kane led the Lady Buffs with 22 points, converting all six of her free throw attempts.
Karley Motschenbacher collected a double-double, finishing with 11 rebounds and 10 points.
Randi Harding added 11 points, making three of six shots from beyond the arc.
Taytum Bell contributed 12 points, shooting 4-for-6 from the field.

SCOUTING THE AGGIES
Cameron enters the week with an overall record of 2-18 with a 2-10 mark in Lone Star Conference action as they look to snap a three-game losing streak on Thursday. The Aggies are 0-8 so far this season inside of Aggie Gym with home losses to East Central, Lubbock Christian, Pitt State, Washburn, Angelo State, UT Permian Basin, St. Edward's and St. Mary's.

Saturday afternoon saw the Aggies hold a 16-12 lead over Lubbock Christian after the first quarter before the Lady Chaps pulled away for a 73-47 victory in Lubbock. Emmary Elizondo led the way offensively for the Aggies, going 6-of-10 from the floor including 1-of-2 from behind the arc for a team-best 14 points to go along with eight rebounds, two assists and three steals.Â

The Aggies have three players averaging double-digit points per game led by Alena Wilson who has gone 118-of-263 (44.9%) from the field including 55-of-84 (65.5%) from the three throw line to average 10.9 points per game to go along with 221 rebounds, 23 assists, 32 steals and 15 blocks. The junior forward from Dallas has reached double-figures in 15 games so far this season with a season-best 20 points against Harding (Nov. 15) and Oklahoma Baptist (Nov. 26).

CU HEAD COACH JEFF MAHONEY
Jeff Mahoney is in his third season at the helm of the Cameron women's basketball program after being promoted in May of 2022 following three seasons as the program's top assistant. He helped the Aggies make three trips to the LSC Championships as well as a spot in the 2021 NCAA South Central Regional Tournament.

Mahoney spent part of the 2021-22 campaign as the interim head coach for the Cameron men's program. The Roosevelt, Oklahoma product is a 1986 graduate of Cameron as he played baseball for the Aggies for two seasons.Â

THE SERIES
Thursday night will mark the 60th all-time meeting on the hardwood between the Lady Buffs and Aggies as WT holds a 53-6 advantage in the series that dates back to 1982. The Lady Buffs are 21-5 all-time inside of Aggie Gym.

The last meeting saw the Lady Buffs outscore the Aggies 16-2 in the opening quarter on theri way to a 85-48 LSC win at the First United Bank Center in Canyon back on December 6th.
Henley West led the way for the Lady Buffs as the freshman went 5-of-7 from the floor and 3-of-3 from the charity stripe for 13 points to go along with eight rebounds and a block.

WT HEAD COACH JOSH PROCK
Josh Prock is now in his fifth season at the helm of the Lady Buff Basketball program. The Lady Buffs made the program's 29th appearance in the NCAA Division II Postseason during the 2024-25 campaign as they went 19-13 overall with a 12-10 mark in the LSC. The Lady Buffs advanced to the South Central Regional Semifinals.

Prock reached the 300-career victory milestone on Thursday, December 4th in a 76-51 victory over Oklahoma Christian at the First United Bank Center in Canyon. Prock was introduced as West Texas A&M's head women's basketball coach on June, 2, 2021. Prock is no stranger to the Lone Star Conference as he spent eight seasons as the head coach at Eastern New Mexico leading the Greyhounds to their only three NCAA Tournament appearances in program history.

HOME SWEET HOME
West Texas A&M is home to one of the finest multi-purpose facilities in the country as the First United Bank Center has served as the home of the Lady Buffs since January 26, 2002. The Lady Buffs are a staggering 298-48 inside of the FUBC during that time for a winning clip of 86.3%. WT has averaged 1,035 fans per contest since the facility opened its doors with the largest crowd coming on Opening Night with 4,941 members of Buff Nation seeing the Lady Buffs take on rival Abilene Christian.

LSC PRESEASON PLAYER OF THE YEAR
West Texas A&M senior guard
Kyla Kane was tabbed the Lone Star Conference Preseason Player of the Year announced on Monday, October 20th. The 5-foot-10 native of Wellington, Texas, averaged 13.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. She shot 89.8 percent from the free throw line and made 56 3-pointers.

LSC PRESEASON POLL
The Lady Buffs were selected fourth in the 2025 LSC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Defending Regional Champion Texas Woman's claimed 20 of the possible 51 first place votes to sit atop of the poll with 810 points followed by Lubbock Christian (14 first place, 776), UT Tyler (eight first place, 761), West Texas A&M (six first place, 663) and Eastern New Mexico (two first place, 657) to round out the top five. Angelo State (656) sits sixth followed by Texas A&M-Kingsville (564), UT Permian Basin (466), Midwestern State (461), St. Mary's (438), St. Edward's (363), Oklahoma Christian (310), Cameron (262), Texas A&M International (one first place, 210), UT Dallas (168), Western New Mexico (161) and Sul Ross State (77).

WBCA DIVISION II TOP-25 POLL
The Lady Buffs dropped one spot to seventh in the newest edition of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II Top-25 Poll announced on Tuesday.

The South Central Region is represented by Texas Woman's (3rd), Colorado Mesa (4th), WT (7th), Lubbock Christian (20th) and Adams State (RV).
