West Texas A&M Basketball Welcomes Ciara Harris for 2026-27

CANYON, TEXAS – West Texas A&M women's basketball head coach Josh Prock has announced the addition of UNC Greensboro transfer Ciara Harris for the 2026-27 campaign.

"We are so excited to add Ciara Harris to our program. She is a very strong, physical guard who is able to use her strength to her advantage. Ciara does a great job of understanding angles in getting to the basket, she is a capable shooter from the 3-point line and mid-range as well" said Prock "One of the best attributes of her game is on the defensive end. She is a very versatile defender; she can guard all five positions on the court. Ciara also uses her physicality to rebound well from the guard position."

Harris saw time in 25 games last season for the Spartans, averaging 13.7 minutes per contest. She went 38-of-106 (35.8%) from the floor including 12-of-41 (29.3%) from behind the arc and 10-of-17 (58.8%) from the free throw line to average 3.9 points per game to go along with 69 rebounds, 24 assists, five blocks and 33 steals.

Ciara started her collegiate career at Oklahoma Christian where she appeared in 24 games with 14 starts in 2024-25. She was third on the team with 10.5 points per game while leading the Eagles with 1.8 steals per contest. Ciara reached double-figures in 11 different contests highlighted by a career-high 30 points against Midwestern State (Jan. 25) to become the first Eagle to score 30+ points in OC's Division II era.

"She has experience playing in our league and understands what it takes to be successful in the Lone Star Conference. We knew going into the off season we would to need to add size to our guard and wing position and Ciara helps us meet those needs" added Prock "She is a tremendous student and has a great personality and will represent our Lady Buff Program in a great way. Please join us in welcoming Ciara to our program."

Harris graduated from McKinney North High School in 2024 where she was a four-year varsity starter and team captain for the Bulldogs under head coach Veronica Hamilton. Ciara set the school's career rebounding record to earn TABC All-State honors. Harris also excelled in the classroom as a member of the National Honor Society.

Ciara is the daughter of Cameron and Kristi Harris and she has three siblings: Chanterria, Brennan and Camreon. She is expected to major in Communications at West Texas A&M.
