CANYON, Texas – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M look to return to their winning ways on Thursday night as they travel to Lawton, Oklahoma for Lone Star Conference action against the Cameron Aggies with tipoff set for 7:30 p.m. at Aggie Gym.

DALLAS BAPTIST REWIND
The Buffaloes fell to the #24 DBU Patriots on Saturday afternoon during Lone Star Conference action at the First United Bank Center in Canyon, Texas.
Brock Mishak scored 15 points, contributing six field goals and adding four assists while collecting seven rebounds.
Fontaine Williams tallied 19 points, converting three of four from beyond the arc and recording two steals.
James Parlow Jr. added 13 points, hitting 6 of 7 free throws and grabbing four rebounds.
Jailyn Sledge posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, including six on the offensive end.

SCOUTING THE AGGIES
Cameron enters the week with an overall record of 6-14 with a 3-9 mark in Lone Star Conference action as they look to snap a six-game losing skid on Thursday night. CU is 3-5 inside of Aggie Gym this season with home victories over New Mexico Highlands, Lubbock Christian and Angelo State.

Saturday afternoon saw the Aggies trail Lubbock Christian 53-18 at halftime as the Chaps rolled to a 107-50 victory in Lubbock. Isaiah McLemore led the way for the Aggies, going 3-of-4 from the floor including 3-of-3 from deep for a team-best nine points with one rebound.

Michael Jones leads the way offensively for the Aggies as the junior forward from Tarpon Springs, Florida has gone 117-of-195 (60%) from the floor including 14-of-37 (37.8%) from behind the arc and 64-of-91 (70.3%) from the stripe to average a team-leading 15.6 points per game with 121 rebounds, 23 assists, 23 steals and 17 blocks. The Lawson State CC transfer had scored atleast 20 points in five games so far this season with a high of 31 points against Texas A&M-Kingsville back on January 2nd.

CU HEAD COACH NATHAN KENNEDY
Nathan Kennedy is now in his first season as the Head Coach of Cameron University Men's Basketball, bringing 20 years of NCAA Division II experience as both a player and assistant coach. Over 15 seasons as an assistant, his teams have qualified for five NCAA regional tournaments and made 13 conference tournament appearances.

Most recently, Kennedy played a key role in revitalizing the Arkansas Tech University program from 2020-25. The 2023–24 season was a standout, as ATU captured both the Great American Conference (GAC) regular season and tournament titles, earning a berth in the NCAA Central Regional. As a player, Kennedy competed at West Liberty University, contributing to a 2006–07 NCAA Tournament berth and the nation's top scoring offense. He later transferred to Salem University, where he led the team in assists and served as captain.

THE SERIES
Thursday night marks the 66th all-time meeting on the hardwood between the Buffaloes and Aggies in a series that dates back to 1979. West Texas A&M is 18-9 all-time inside of Aggie Gym in Lawton.

The last meeting saw the Buffs force 15 Cameron turnovers on the way to a 76-52 Lone Star Conference victory at the First United Bank Center in Canyon back on December 6th.
Brock Mishak finished with 12 points and collected six rebounds while adding four assists.
James Parlow Jr. scored 16 points, converting six of his eight field-goal attempts.

WT HEAD COACH TOM BROWN
Tom Brown, now in his 12th season at the helm of the West Texas A&M men's basketball program, has built the Buffs into one of the elite NCAA Division II programs in the nation.  He has guided WT to nine consecutive NCAA Tournaments including the Buffs first-ever NCAA Division II National Championship game in 2021.Â

Brown was hired as the 17th head coach in program history on April 16, 2014. In the past 10 seasons, Coach Brown and his staff are 279-70 (.804) and an average of 27 wins a season with appearances in the Sweet 16, Elite Eight, Final Four (2) and National Title game. During his time in Canyon, Brown is 299-83 (.787) overall and 160-49 (.773) in league action.Â

LSC PRESEASON POLL
Defending Regional Champion Dallas Baptist claimed 42 of the possible 51 first place votes for a total of 850 points to sit atop of the poll followed by St. Mary's (two first place, 724), Lubbock Christian (four first place, 720), St. Edward's (669) and West Texas A&M (two first place, 654) to round out the top five.

Angelo State and Eastern New Mexico tied for sixth with 592 points followed by Midwestern State (558), UT Permian Basin (468), Texas A&M International (one first place, 350), Texas A&M-Kingsville (330), Cameron (301), Oklahoma Christian (266), UT Tyler (260), Western New Mexico (193), UT Dallas (188) and Sul Ross State (88).

LONE STAR CONFERENCE NEWS & NOTES
With four weeks remaining in the Lone Star Conference men's basketball regular season, No. 18 Eastern New Mexico (17-3 overall) and No. 24 DBU (16-6 overall) are tied for first place at 10-2. No. 9 Lubbock Christian (18-3 overall) is right there with them at 9-2.

Western New. Mexico (16-4, 10-3 LSC) has won a league-high six games in a row and is alone in fourth place.

ENMU, which has won five straight games, has not lost away from home (10-0).
