CANYON, Texas – The #6 Lady Buffs host the #3 Pioneers of Texas Woman's on Saturday afternoon in a battle atop of the LSC with tipoff set for 1:00 p.m. in Canyon at the First United Bank Center.
 
UT TYLER REWIND
West Texas A&M remained unbeaten in league action while running their win streak to 19 games on Thursday night with a 70-51 Lone Star Conference victory over the UT Tyler Patriots at the First United Bank Center in Canyon. Claire Graham scored 18 points, including three 3-pointers, and added four assists. Henley West finished with 18 points and collected 11 rebounds, contributing significantly on both ends of the court. Taylor Haggan posted 13 points and grabbed five rebounds while shooting efficiently, converting 6 of 8 field goal attempts.
 
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Texas Woman's enters Saturday riding a 16-game winning streak as they are 17-1 overall with an unbeaten 11-0 mark in Lone Star Conference action. The Pioneers are 10-0 on the road so far this season. The lone loss of the campaign came back on November 8th in a 75-59 defeat at the hands of then #25 Harding in Denton.
 
Thursday night saw the Pioneers pull out a 66-63 road victory at Eastern New Mexico. TWU shot 44.4% (24-of-54) including 83.3% (15-of-18) at the free throw line as they forced 15 Greyhound turnovers. Avery Kleinhans and Madi Lumsden scored 19 points each in the win. Lumsden went 6-of-9 from the floor and 2-of-5 from behind the arc with four rebounds while Kleinhans hit all nine of her free throw attempts with five boards.
 
Kleinhans leads the way offensively for the Pioneers as the senior guard from Nocona, Texas has gone 96-of-211 (45.5%) from the floor including 27-of-74 (36.5%) from behind the arc and 72-of-85 (83.7%) from the charity stripe to average 17.1 points per game to go along with 104 rebounds, 59 assists, 35 steals and four blocks. Kleinhans has reached double-figures in all 17 games so far this season with a season-best 29 points coming against UT Permian Basin back on January 2nd.
 
TWU HEAD COACH BETH JILLSON
Beth Jillson is now in her 19th season at the helm of the Texas Woman's basketball program as she holds an overall record of 322-211 during her time in Denton. She has led the Pioneers to six South Central Regional Tournaments (2011, 2016, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025) as well as a South Central Regional Title in 2024. Jillson was hired in Denton on August 17, 2007 following assistant coaching stops at Charleston Southern, New Mexico Junior College and Oklahoma State.
 
THE SERIES
Saturday afternoon marks the 73rd all-time meeting on the hardwood between West Texas A&M and Texas Woman's as WT holds the 62-10 advantage in the series. TWU is 2-33 all-time in Canyon including 1-19 inside of the First United Bank Center with their only victory coming during their last trip in January of 2024.
 
Last year's meeting saw the Pioneers jump out to a 10-point lead after the opening quarter on their way to a dominant 87-55 victory at Kitty Magee Arena in Denton. TWU shot 50.7% (34-of-67) from the floor while WT committed 12 turnovers in the loss. Claire Graham led the way for the Lady Buffs, going 5-of-14 from the floor including 2-of-6 from deep for a team-best 12 points to go along with four boards and two assists.
 
WT HEAD COACH JOSH PROCK
Josh Prock is now in his fifth season at the helm of the Lady Buff Basketball program. The Lady Buffs made the program's 29th appearance in the NCAA Division II Postseason during the 2024-25 campaign as they went 19-13 overall with a 12-10 mark in the LSC. The Lady Buffs advanced to the South Central Regional Semifinals.
 
Prock reached the 300-career victory milestone on Thursday, December 4th in a 76-51 victory over Oklahoma Christian at the First United Bank Center in Canyon. Prock was introduced as West Texas A&M's head women's basketball coach on June, 2, 2021. Prock is no stranger to the Lone Star Conference as he spent eight seasons as the head coach at Eastern New Mexico leading the Greyhounds to their only three NCAA Tournament appearances in program history.
 
HOME SWEET HOME
West Texas A&M is home to one of the finest multi-purpose facilities in the country as the First United Bank Center has served as the home of the Lady Buffs since January 26, 2002. The Lady Buffs are a staggering 298-47 inside of the FUBC during that time for a winning clip of 86.3%. WT has averaged 1,035 fans per contest since the facility opened its doors with the largest crowd coming on Opening Night with 4,941 members of Buff Nation seeing the Lady Buffs take on rival Abilene Christian.
 
LSC PRESEASON PLAYER OF THE YEAR
West Texas A&M senior guard Kyla Kane was tabbed the Lone Star Conference Preseason Player of the Year announced on Monday, October 20th. The 5-foot-10 native of Wellington, Texas, averaged 13.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. She shot 89.8 percent from the free throw line and made 56 3-pointers.
 
LSC PRESEASON POLL
The Lady Buffs were selected fourth in the 2025 LSC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Defending Regional Champion Texas Woman's claimed 20 of the possible 51 first place votes to sit atop of the poll with 810 points followed by Lubbock Christian (14 first place, 776), UT Tyler (eight first place, 761), West Texas A&M (six first place, 663) and Eastern New Mexico (two first place, 657) to round out the top five. Angelo State (656) sits sixth followed by Texas A&M-Kingsville (564), UT Permian Basin (466), Midwestern State (461), St. Mary's (438), St. Edward's (363), Oklahoma Christian (310), Cameron (262), Texas A&M International (one first place, 210), UT Dallas (168), Western New Mexico (161) and Sul Ross State (77).
 
WBCA DIVISION II TOP-25 POLL
The Lady Buffs remained sixth in the newest edition of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II Top-25 Poll announced on Tuesday.
 
The South Central Region is represented by Texas Woman's (3rd), WT (6th), Colorado Mesa (7th) and Lubbock Christian (23rd) and Adams State (RV).

The contest will be broadcasted on FloCollege. The LSC and FloSports reached a historic agreement in August for the largest streaming rights deal in NCAA Division II history.
