CANYON, Texas – The #6 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M close out their Lone Star Conference road trip on Thursday night as they make the short drive to Portales, New Mexico to take on the rival Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds in LSC action with tipoff set for 6:30 p.m. CT at Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena.

MIDWESTERN STATE REWIND
The then #7 Lady Buffs had five players reach double-figures on Saturday afternoon as WT ran their win streak to 17 games with a 78-65 Lone Star Conference victory over the Midwestern State Mustangs at D.L. Ligon Coliseum in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Kyla Kane scored 14 points and recorded two blocks.
Randi Harding added 12 points and posted four assists.
Taylor Haggan contributed 14 points and collected seven rebounds.
Henley West finished with 12 points and two blocks.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
Eastern New Mexico enters the week with an overall record of 12-5 with a 8-1 mark in Lone Star Conference action. The Greyhounds are a perfect 5-0 inside of Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena this season with wins over Southwestern Oklahoma State, Cameron, Oklahoma Christian, St. Mary's and St. Edward's.

The Greyhounds carried a five-game win streak into last Saturday afternoon before falling on the road to the then #11 Lubbock Christian Lady Chaps. ENMU turned the ball over 16 times while shooting 35.9% (23-of-64) from the floor in the loss. Shay Moseberry led the way for the Hounds, going 7-of-12 from the floor including 3-of-6 from deep for a team-best 19 points with four rebounds and two steals.

Julieta Ceja leads the way offensively for the Greyhounds as the junior forward from Jiquilpan, Michoacán, Mexico has gone 69-of-142 (48.6%) from the field including 23-of-44 (52.3%) from the charity stripe to average 10.4 points per game including 107 rebounds (37 offensive, 70 defensive), 26 assists, 19 steals and three blocks. Ceja has reached double-figures in 10 games so far this season while tallying a double-double against Sul Ross State and Western New Mexico.

ENMU HEAD COACH BLAKE HUBER
Blake Huber is in his third season at the helm of the Eastern New Mexico women's basketball program, being named the head coach in June of 2023. He holds an overall record of 44-32 during his time in Portales.

Huber spent the 2022-23 season as the head coach at Texas A&M-Texarkana where he took the Eagles to a 29-2 record, being named the Red River Conference Coach of the Year. He led the team to their first ever tournament appearance and victory, advancing to the second round of the NAIA National Tournament.

THE SERIES
Thursday night marks the 96th all-time meeting on the hardwood between the Lady Buffs and Greyhounds as WT holds the 79-16 advantage in the series that dates back to 1980. The Lady Buffs are 28-10 all-time in Portales, dropping their last three trips to the Land of Enchantment.

Eastern New Mexico claimed both matchups during the 2024-25 campaign including a 56-43 victory in the regular season finale in Canyon. The Lady Buffs struggled from the floor shooting just 31.5% (17-of-54) in the loss.
Taylor Haggan led the way for WT, going 9-of-20 from the floor for a game-high 19 points with four rebounds and a pair of steals followed by
Kyla Kane with 13 points.

WT HEAD COACH JOSH PROCK
Josh Prock is now in his fifth season at the helm of the Lady Buff Basketball program. The Lady Buffs made the program's 29th appearance in the NCAA Division II Postseason during the 2024-25 campaign as they went 19-13 overall with a 12-10 mark in the LSC. The Lady Buffs advanced to the South Central Regional Semifinals.

Prock reached the 300-career victory milestone on Thursday, December 4th in a 76-51 victory over Oklahoma Christian at the First United Bank Center in Canyon. Prock was introduced as West Texas A&M's head women's basketball coach on June, 2, 2021. Prock is no stranger to the Lone Star Conference as he spent eight seasons as the head coach at Eastern New Mexico leading the Greyhounds to their only three NCAA Tournament appearances in program history.

West Texas A&M is home to one of the finest multi-purpose facilities in the country as the First United Bank Center has served as the home of the Lady Buffs since January 26, 2002. The Lady Buffs are a staggering 296-47 inside of the FUBC during that time for a winning clip of 86.3%. WT has averaged 1,035 fans per contest since the facility opened its doors with the largest crowd coming on Opening Night with 4,941 members of Buff Nation seeing the Lady Buffs take on rival Abilene Christian.

LSC PRESEASON PLAYER OF THE YEAR
West Texas A&M senior guard
Kyla Kane was tabbed the Lone Star Conference Preseason Player of the Year announced on Monday, October 20th. The 5-foot-10 native of Wellington, Texas, averaged 13.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. She shot 89.8 percent from the free throw line and made 56 3-pointers.

LSC PRESEASON POLL
The Lady Buffs were selected fourth in the 2025 LSC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Defending Regional Champion Texas Woman's claimed 20 of the possible 51 first place votes to sit atop of the poll with 810 points followed by Lubbock Christian (14 first place, 776), UT Tyler (eight first place, 761), West Texas A&M (six first place, 663) and Eastern New Mexico (two first place, 657) to round out the top five. Angelo State (656) sits sixth followed by Texas A&M-Kingsville (564), UT Permian Basin (466), Midwestern State (461), St. Mary's (438), St. Edward's (363), Oklahoma Christian (310), Cameron (262), Texas A&M International (one first place, 210), UT Dallas (168), Western New Mexico (161) and Sul Ross State (77).

WBCA DIVISION II TOP-25 POLL
The Lady Buffs jumped to sixth in the newest edition of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II Top-25 Poll announced on Tuesday.

The South Central Region is represented by Texas Woman's (3rd), WT (6th), Colorado Mesa (9th) and Lubbock Christian (15th).
