CANYON, Texas – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M fired rounds of 293 and 289 on Monday to hold an 18-stroke lead after the first day of the Pilgrim's Run Invitational at Pilgrim's Run Golf Club (Par 73 – 7,093 Yards) in Pierson, Michigan.

Santiago Caride played a pair of great rounds to open the season as he carded scores of 68 and 70 to hold a seven-stroke lead on the individual leaderboard over UT Tyler's Conner Carver (145). Caride registered 11 birdies on Monday with six of them coming in the opening round.
Indian Hills Community College (+16) sits second on the team leaderboard after 36 holes followed by Ferris State (+18), Davenport (+18) and Tiffin (+23) to round out the top five.
Tuesday's final round begins at 7:30 a.m. CT
