Palomo Wins the San Juan Intercollegiate, Buffs Finish Second

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M secured second place at the San Juan Intercollegiate at The Bridges Golf and Country Club in Montrose, Colorado highlighted by Luis Palomo's individual victory with a final score of 197, including rounds of 64, 68, and 65.
 
West Texas A&M registered a cumulative score of 833, trailing only Colorado Mesa by five strokes. The team demonstrated a strong performance in Round 3, shooting a 273, which was their best round of the tournament. Palomo led the charge for the Buffs, finishing first overall with an impressive 197, shooting rounds of 64, 68, and 65. His performance was highlighted by a final round of 65, which was six under par.
 
David Vega Gerstel also contributed significantly to the team's success, tying for fifth place with a total score of 207. He closed the tournament with a strong final round of 66, five under par. Santiago Caride and José Rozas finished tied for 31st and 38th, respectively, with Caride maintaining a steady performance with two rounds at even par. Victor Estas rounded out the lineup, finishing tied for 47th with a final score of 227, recovering with an even-par 71 in the final round after a challenging second round.
 
The Buffs return to the course on September 28-30 as they travel to Cancun, Mexico to take part in the Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya.
