CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M dominated for three-straight days in Portales, New Mexico as the Buffs rolled to their fifth straight Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Steve Loy Family Foundation Field.

WT returns to the track for one final tune-up for the NCAA Outdoor National Championships as the Buffs host the annual WT Last Chance Meet inside of the Buffalo Sports Complex on Sunday, May 11
th.

Romet Vahter started things off for the Buffs in the javelin as the Romania product claimed six points with a 3
rd place finish, registering a mark of 56.02m on his second attempt.
Joseph Oreva claimed the first individual title of the day for the Buffs in the men's long jump, breaking his own school record with a mark of 7.89m.Â

WT picked up 148 of their 240.50 points in running events as the Buffs claimed six total individual championships on Saturday in Portales.

Aziz Mohammed claimed a pair of LSC crowns on Saturday as the Ghana native ran a time of 3:50.38 in the 1,500m followed by a mark of 1:52.13 in the 800m.
James Dadzie picked up a victory in the 100m dash with a time of 10.12 while
Troy Whyte impressed in the 400m hurdles with the eighth best mark in WT history (50.94) to win the event.

William Amponsah continued to dominate the distance events for the Buffs as the senior ran a time of 14:24.74 in the men's 5K for his second LSC Championship of the weekend.
