Andritsch and Benton Ready to Compete in Albuquerque

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M's Mara Andritsch and Kailee Benton will be the only two Lady Buffs taking the track this weekend as they travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico to take part in the New Mexico Collegiate Classic & Multi inside of the Albuquerque Convention Center.
 
The Lady Buffs currently sit seventh in the USTFCCCA Division II Rating Index with 105.44 points while the Buffs are fourth (135.90).
 
The New Mexico Collegiate Classic & Multi will be broadcasted on FloTrack and live results are available courtesy of Record Timing.
 
Andritsch and Benton will compete in the women's pentathlon on Friday starting at 11:10 a.m. CT. Both will try to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships on March 14-15 in Indianapolis. Esther Conde-Turpin of Azusa Pacific currently holds the top mark in the nation with 4,258 points and provisional scores start at 3,300. 
 
Pentathlon Schedule
60m Hurdles – 11:10 a.m.
High Jump – 11:50 a.m.
Shot Put – 1:55 p.m.
Long Jump – 3:10 p.m.
800m – 5:25 p.m.
 
The remainder of the track team is taking advantage of ideal weather conditions in the Texas Panhandle this week as they continue training for the Lone Star Conference Indoor Championships in Albuquerque on February 21-22.
