CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M picked up 277.50 total points as they rolled to the program's fifth consecutive Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at Steve Loy Family Foundation Field in Portales, New Mexico.

WT returns to the track for one final tune-up for the NCAA Outdoor National Championships as the Lady Buffs host the annual WT Last Chance Meet inside of the Buffalo Sports Complex on Sunday, May 11
th.

Mara Andritsch added to the WT scoring total with a silver medal in the women's javelin with a mark of 44.56m on her fifth attempt, tying the seventh best throw in program history.
Kailee Benton claimed one point for the Lady Buffs in the long jump as the Amarillo product registered a mark of 5.85m on her third attempt to finish 8
th.

Jada Sewell picked up her second conference title of the weekend in the women's shot put with a mark of 14.57m on her opening attempt.

The Lady Buffs claimed 189 of their 277.50 points on the track as WT claimed seven individual titles along with the 4x100m relay crown in the running events. The first running event of the afternoon saw the 4x1 relay squad of

Blessing Akintoye and
Deborah Acheampong claim the conference title with a time of 44.91.Â

Abigail Abugire was dominant in the mid-distance events for the Lady Buff as the freshman from Ghana won the LSC crown in both the 1,500m (4:34.11) and the 800m (2:03.73) to set a new school record and meet record in the 800m. The 200m dash saw Acheampong win the league crown with a mark of 23.39 followed by Akintoye in 2
nd (23.47).Â

The 400m hurdles saw
Asana Hamidu run the fifth-fastest time in program history (59.45) to claim the LSC Title. Nwaelehia claimed her second crown of the afternoon in the 400m dash as the Nigeria product ran a time of 52.11. Acheampong would run a time of 11.33 to set a new meet record in the women's 100m for the second-best mark in WT outdoor history.
