Lady Buffs Add Claire Graham for the 2024-25 Basketball Season

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M head women's basketball coach Josh Prock has announced the addition Abilene Christian transfer Claire Graham for the 2024-25 campaign.

"When you begin to think about the definition of a Lady Buff, you think of someone who is a tough competitor, someone who understands what hard work looks like and truly puts her teammates ahead of their own needs.  Claire is the truth definition of a Lady Buff. She is a leader and someone whom other young ladies will want to play alongside" said Prock "Claire is a complete player and an amazing young lady, we have known about Claire since she has been in high school and we have always known about her high level competitive nature every time she steps on the floor."

The 5'9 guard comes to Canyon following two seasons at Abilene Christian where she saw time in 57 games with six starts for the Wildcats. She went 72-of-195 (36.9%) from the floor including 43-of-136 (31.6%) from deep and 23-of-28 (82.1%) from the free throw line to average 3.7 points per game to go along with 112 rebounds, 35 assists, 25 steals and a block.

Graham lettered in basketball, track, softtball and cross country at Jim Ned High School where she was a three-time All-State selection on the hardwood for the Indians, picking up Big Country Most Valuable Player honors twice as she registered a career record of 125-15 with four District Titles and four trips to the Regional Tournament. She also excelled in the classroom as a member of the National Honor Society.

Claire is the daughter of Keith and Tracy Graham and she has two siblings, Case and Cooper. She is expected to major in Psychology at West Texas A&M.

"Claire is a young lady who can score on all three levels and has had a knack for making big shots in her career.  She is a very tough physical defender and a wing who can rebound at a high level as well" added Prock "Claire is a tremendous young lady off the court and we know that she will represent Buff Nation extremely well."

"Claire was an All-State player for Jim Ned as a four-year varsity player, winning 125 games with four District Titles and four trips to the Regional Tournament. She averaged 17.3 points per game her senior year but point production was a small part of her impact on Jim Ned basketball, her leadership on and off the court is what sets Claire apart" said Jim Ned High School head coach Hunter Cooley "Her parents have imparted a work ethic to Claire that is second to none. Dedicated, hard-working and committed are words I would use to describe Claire.  She was an absolute joy to coach, I am happy to know she will be playing for WT next season."
