CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M freshman Wyatt Provence impressed for the Buffaloes at the Firekeeper Open hosted by Washburn University as the Randall High School product fired rounds in the red of 71, 70 and 69 on his way to a 210 (-6) at Firekeeper Golf Course (Par 72 – 7,030 Yards) to finish third overall with WT finishing third on the team leaderboard.
 
The Amarillo product shot a 69 (-3) during the third round as he registered six birdies on Tuesday with four of them coming on the back nine. WT tallied 28 feathers during the final round with seven of those coming from Jose Rozas including six in his first nine holes. Victor Estas registered the only eagle of the day for the Buffs on the 525-yard par-five fourth hole. 
 
The Buffs played their best golf of the tournament during Tuesday's final round as they fired a 280 (-8) to finish third overall with a -10 (854). Central Missouri shot rounds of 281, 278 and 286 for a -19 (845) to claim a four-stroke lead over Missouri Southern State (-15, 849). UCM's Alex Gentry claimed the individual crown with a 203 (-13) for a four-stroke win over Daniel Duffin (207, -9) of Washburn.
 
West Texas A&M heads takes some time off as they prepare for the 2024 Lone Star Conference Championships at WinStar Golf Club in Thackerville, Oklahoma on April 22-24.
