Buffs Tied for Second After the Opening Day in Ruidoso

CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes fired a 285 in the first two rounds to sit tied for second after the opening day of the RJGA South Central Shootout at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Golf Club (Pay 72 – 7,166 Yards) in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
 
Santiago Caride leads the way for the Buffs as the sophomore fired rounds of 68 and 70 to sit in third place (-6, 138) as he registered 11 birdies on Monday highlighted by six in the opening round. Victor Estas sits tied for fifth with a -4 (140) while Wyatt Provence is tied for 10th (-2, 142).
 
Colorado Christian holds a four-stroke lead (-10, 566) over the Buffs and the host Mustangs of Western New Mexico heading into the final round. Joey Geary of WNMU leads the way on the individual leaderboard with a 136 (-8) to hold a one stroke lead over CCU's Adam Duncan.
 
Tuesday's final round begins with traditional tee times starting at 8:30 a.m.
