CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes improved their team score by 20 strokes during the final round on Tuesday to finish seventh at The Writz at Mile High hosted by Colorado Christian and Colorado School of Mines at Bear Creek Golf Club (Par 72 – 7,224 Yards) at Lakewood, Colorado.
Three Buffs fired in the red on Tuesday as WT registered 14 feathers on the day with
Wyatt Provence,
Victor Estas and
Luis Palomo finished tied for 11
th with a 220 (+4).
Colorado Christian shot a 359 (-1) during the final round to pick up a two-stroke victory over Colorado School of Mines (+8, 1,088). Xavier Bighaus of Colorado Christian shot in the red with a 69 (-3) on Tuesday to finish with a 212 (-4) to claim the individual championship by two strokes over teammate Adam Duncan and Lukas Taggart of Colorado School of Mines.
The Buffs return to action on September 25-26 as they travel to Ruidoso, New Mexico to take part in the RJGA South Central Shootout at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Golf Club.
