INDIANAPOLIS – The West Texas A&M men's basketball team received the No. 5 ranking in this week's NCAA South Central Regional rankings.

Fort Lewis tops the regional ranks with an overall record of 22-2 followed by Black Hills State at 23-3. Colorado Mesa occupies the No. 3 spot at 21-4 with Angelo State (20-5) at No. 4. WT (19-6) sits at No. 5 followed by Colorado School of Mines (20-4), Lubbock Christian (17-8), Texas A&M-Kingsville (17-9, St. Edward's (16-9), and Eastern New Mexico (13-9).
The top eight teams in the South Central Region will take part in the Regional Tournament taking place on March 11-14 at the top overall seed, the winners of the two conference tournaments (LSC, RMAC) will receive an automatic bid into the postseason with the last six spots being filled by at-large selections.

The official announcement of the 64-team NCAA Division II Championship field will be made following the Lone Star Conference Tournament held at the Comerica Center Frisco, Texas. The 2023 NCAA Division II Elite Eight, Final Four, and National Championship game will take place in Evansville, Indiana on March 21-25.
